8. No kidding. When is the DNC going to kick his ass out of the party. It's
embarassing, infuriating and plain disgusting. Zell is such a pig.

11. Not going to happen. For one thing
Zell's just about bit the dust politically - he's retiring at the end of this term. But more importantly, kicking Miller out of the party would more than likely send him into the waiting arms of the Republicans, who would have scored one more party-line seat in the Senate. Also, if the Democrats were to boot Zell, he would become a sympathetic character, kicked out of the "liberal" Democratic party for having a dissenting opinion. And God knows the right and Miller would capitalize on that.

7. What I want to know is who votes for him?
Of course he'll be speaking at the Republican convention being that he is one of them even though he registers as a Democrat.

19. Who votes for him? He's from Georgia, for God's sake!
When your daddy told you on his deathbed to never, ever vote for a Republican because of what they did to the Confederacy, but your daddy died before the Republicans and the Democrats switched viewpoints, you entered into what we call a Moral Dilemma.

And this happens a lot in places like Georgia.

Fortunately for the Georgia voter in this pickle, there's Zell. When you vote for Zell, you can vote your conscience but your daddy won't come back from beyond the grave and kick your ass so hard you gotta take off your pants to answer the phone. He's the perfect Democrat for the Georgia voter.

Unfortunately, that makes him the perfect Republican everywhere else in the civilized world.

13. a freeper is a generic term for a right winger, taken from the website
Free Republic, a popular wingnut message board.

10. If he won't refer to himself as a Republican, then I suggest Democrats
start referring to him as an Independent (no slight meant to Sen. Jeffords). The implication is that we don't want him in our party.

18. At least Jim Jeffords had the integrity
To actually leave his party when it got to the point where he could no longer support them.

16. Yeah that fool is just another redneck who like him some simple talk
...every once in a while a person changes after being elected (for whatever reason) - the best thing to do now is just disown him and pretend he doesn't exist. If I was a senator and asked about him I'd just respond "Zell Miller"? "Never talked to him".
