F911 - Montana Feedback - Billings Gazette
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 07:04 PM by bigskydem
MISSOULA - Despite threatening weather, patrons began lining up more than an hour early, forming a queue that stretched down Higgins Avenue and around the corner.

In the end, Friday night's first local screening of Michael Moore's controversial documentary, "Fahrenheit 9/11," sold more than 750 tickets, making it Missoula's best-attended film debut since the opening night of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" in February 2001, according to theater manager Bill Emerson.

"A lot of people were intimidated by the long line," said Emerson. "We would have easily had a sellout tonight if all these people had realized we have 1,063 seats."

1. And yet it's not playing in Billings, the state's largest city.

4. I live in Billings
My wife and I drove over to Bozeman last night to see it. The 9:50pm show was about 95% full.

5. I wrote to Carmike to complain that it's not being shown here.
I heartily suggest that other people do the same. I can't get away to Bozeman.

15. 3 theaters
24 screens. All owned by Carmike, which is the owner of the theater that is showing it in Bozeman, a much smaller city albeit college town 140 miles to the west. Missoula and Bozeman are the supposed liberal hotbeds in Montana. Billings is more conservative but would be better described as swing than right-wing. Lots of stupid rednecks around here, though.

2. Damn, thanks for that post - I was born in Glasgow, went to HS in Havre
and to college in Missoula.

I like Montana and Montanans, but their stubborn RWness is one of the main reasons I didn't stay there.

3. See, this is just Bogus..
" would recommend that people bring a healthy amount of skepticism when they see it," Kemmis said."

What's so skeptical about news footage?

And the proof is already out there that Iraq was Invaded on Lies...

Is this reviewer giving a winger slant or what?

6. Was it a real Kemmis quote
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 07:10 PM by swag
Guy is a politician, if I remember correctly.

Anyway, skepticism is what Missoula is about. Kemmis might have thought he was speaking to a Missoula audience as opposed to a Billings audience (huge diff - Billingsites not skeptical about anything beyond their check at Wendy's).

10. Really. He also ought to suggest that people be skeptical
of the propaganda that's been presented as "news" for the past four years. These people who try so hard to appear "fair" are starting to wear on my nerves.

7. Roanoke, VA feedback on F9/11
http://www.roanoke.com/roatimes/news/story168911.html

This is a small theater. The big theaters "choose" not to rock the boat in this RED STATE:mad: But I hope it will be blue come Nov.

interesting results of F9/11 viewers!

I can believe..I couldn't stand to be with a bush/invader supporter.

I've heard Roanoake is one of the very most Liberal parts of Virginia and thankfully they have a Democratic Govenor now, Mark Warner.
