Federal prosecutors interviewed Bu$h on 6/24 about Plamegate.
We all know that by now. Old news. My question is: How did Bu$h conduct himself in the interview? Was he testy and arrogant like he was in the Radio Telifis Eireann (RTE) interview done by the Irish Helen Thomas, Carole Coleman? Was he petulant and petty, demanding respect at every turn? Or (or!), was he contrite and submissive, having been through criminal interrogations before in the early 1970s?

I think he was the latter. In fact, I think he was so beat up by the federal prosecutors that he took it out on Carole Coleman in that now-famous RTE interview. I think that is why he is so insecure over the entire "respect for the presidency" thing. Although he may have beat the raps, I believe he was in the hot-seat at the local pokey enough to develop a deep-seated inferiority complex. That might explain - in part - his tendency to lash out, even when relatively un-provoked.

I'm no psychologist (Dr. D is, but she is not here tonight), so feel free to set me straight DU psychologists, psychiatrists, and interested onlookers.

1. i dunno Demo
i think he lashes out whenever he feels cornered and he's not witty enough to think on his feet. That cornered feeling must be coming his way more often these days :smoke:

2. Nothing will come of it, I'm sure.
As usual. Anyone with his connections. Nothing would have come of it even if he weren't the President.

3. He thought he would just intimidate reporter Coleman like he does
almost all reporters in the US.

When confronted with a real journalist and reporter who did NOT adore him for fear of losing her job, he became a petulant bully, therefore showing his true colors.

They were NOT pleasant to look at.

They showed a little five year old boy who was in over his head when conversing with a sharp and aware woman, who was not afraid of this stupid frat boy and who was not on her knees kissing his ass, and who had a mission and that was to get the answers to her reasonable questions.

She stuck with her mission.
She is another person I have added to my hero list.

4. Another thing to keep in mind
is that he and Cheney were interviewed separately, unlike with the 9/11 Commission. That really has me wondering if they contradicted each other.

5. Well, they probably did contra-dick each other (couldn't resist).
The Dickster has had some problems with the law in the past too. Garden-variety drunk-driving. I think Bu$h had much more serious encounters with the legal system and I think that has molded him into the monster he is today. Not so much the encounter(s), but more the skating .. beating the rap. Just like "beating" alcohol. He "did it on his own." Yeah right.

Well, just look at him now. Bu$h is as fucked-up as any nut-case I have ever known. As a volunteer in a soup kitchen, I have met my share of nut-cases. Ceteris paribus, had Bu$h been born a bit lower on the peerage scale, he would have ended up in Vietnam, jail, the "shelter", and the morgue, probably in that order.
