It's F9/11 in Phoenix!!!!
Yep toasty warm it is.
5 of us braved the summer heat to go together to watch, and weep.

I thought it was great. Lots of sporadic applause throughout the movie (this is a HEAVILY repug city). The showing was SOLD OUT and we were advised by the theatre staff to GET THERE EARLY! (we did).

I cried several times. I almost threw up several times and could barely repress my anger. There were lots of mutterings from the audience, and gasps of horror. Apparently, it was NOT all preaching to the choir, because the gasps came at "revelations" (which all DUers know already) of information that most probably are unaware of. There were ejaculations of "Jesus!" and outright angry snarls at times.

A short, but very enthusiastic round of applause at the end.

HUGE line of people for the next showing, it was sold out as well.

2. Which theater did you go to? I saw it at Deer Valley 30 and was
shocked at the line for the next show. The movie affected me more than I expected, as I have been deeply engrossed in all of this stuff for the last 3 years. My son's been to Afghanistan and back and his wife is now in Iraq. The movie was overwhelming.

It was the Camelback Esplanade 14.

I couldn't be happier about the sell-outs. I was afraid that we'd be the only city in the country that wouldn't be able to fill the theatres opening weekend.

On edit: was there a cop checking tickets at your showings? There was one at mine.

7. It seriously wigged-out my co-worker
who was one of the party today.

I told her it was probably just to keep disruptors from causing trouble.

After the movie was over two young women (late teens - early 20s) walked by and one said, "People coming out of that movie scare me" and nodded at all of us milling out of the theatre.

10. What's scary are these teens who are so pro-Bush.
They don't even know why, but they'll be the ones sent off to get blown up for him. Of all the times to listen to their parents, this is not it.

11. Yep, read that already.
Are you going to Kerry's thing on Tuesday? Somebody called me and asked me if I wanted tickets, so I ordered two. I have to pick them up tomorrow.

I wonder, do these guys (politicians) actually listen to anything we say to them at these rallies, or are they too overwhelmed to hear it? John Kerry is our last best hope and I want to know he's not going to let us down.

Saw the 10AM up here in mild, cool, more Democratic Flagstaff. :-) Very similar responses, and diverse ages represented as well.
