Come Sunday, you'll see the rationale behind the admin.'s prohibition
against seeing F 9/11. Most of the repub. guests will be able to claim: "I have not seen it yet . . . however . . ." When confronted with specifics from the movie, they will again to be able to say, "I have not see it, so I cannot comment on it." Whatever talking points they use (Clarke released the Saudis, etc.), we will be used to them; let's hope the public took notes. But they want to avoid the topic, trust me.

I have seen the faxes. I'm not supposed to post this (though my repub. friend will forgive me, I'm sure--if he ever sees this ), but the bottle of Cab. has gotten the better of me.

Just watch. Mark this post.

By the way, there have been "liberal media" faxes all over the place since Wednesday attempting to bully the media regarding the coverage of the film. You should see it on Saturday night. Wow.

3. Unfortunately, friends come before politics in my world.
And here's the real temptation: 99.97% chance it wouldn't be caught. I have loyalty--not to country, not to Church, but to friends (REAL friends).

This guy's a liberal repub who has been copying every single blast fax and memo he's ever received. One day, one day, I believe, he's going to turn. And then, oh man. He's got a book waiting in the wings. Fun stuff.

I'll never sell him out. It's really nothing compared even to Clarke's revelations. And we see how far that's gotten us.

2. Seems to me they'll look more stupid than usual
taking a head-buried-in-the-sand approach.

They look like they could do the trick. :hi:

6. doesn't sound like such a great strategy
The conservative guests aren't going to seem authroritative if the host has seen the movie, a liberal guest has seen the movie, but the conservative guest hasn't.

7. Check LBN today for media fax success --
and articles marginalizing the film and its viewers. Check this from NYT:

The film, part polemic and part character assassination, presents President Bush as a buffoon and his administration as having filched the 2000 election, ignored the terrorist threats before Sept. 11, 2001, and manipulated the facts and public opinion to justify a war against Iraq. The central motive for the war, the film suggests, is a desire to protect the ties of the Bush family and their inner circle to Saudi Arabian oil money.

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/27/politics/campaign/27fahrenheit.html

There's another article about the film's "preaching to the choir."

The LA Times is an exception. Here's a link to an article originating from LAT, "Moore Film Heats Up Emotions""

10. and that rationale is....THEY ARE CHICKEN SHIT.
They never saw a fight they'd avoid if it looked like a tough one. If it's them picking on weak ones....they're lining up. But if these fecking repuke disgusting brownshirt leaders of the party try to take Moore's movie head on they will lose in spades and they KNOW IT. So rather than change position or state with conviction what they think on the subject, they will obfuscate for an hour on the morning shows.

In fact, they have all their points lined up to refrain from answering directly and will talk about how pessimistic Kerry is and the idea that he should not be president because the current president is a fucking optimist about all his failures.

I can just see it now. We could have a montage of all the Bush fuckups from the past 3 years as reported in the news headlines....images of bombing Iraq...wounded Iraqis...wounded and dead US soldiers....and Bush saying he's an optmist with the music "Put on a Happy Face" playing in the background.

13. That would make a good flash...
You ought to mention that to symbolman. I'd like to see it... a litany of all of Shrub's foulups, with 'Put on a happy face' as background music. I could think of a number of folks I would definitely send it to.

K.

14. but even among the wingers who've seen it ...

they seem to bluster onto the airwaves and say "Michael Moore is biased; he's a dangerous demagogue" and then provide NO specific criticism of the facts ... occasionally, they'll mention the splicing techniques that lead to perhaps unfair innuendo, but that's about as far as they can pin anything on Moore.

Like the "Kerry's too pessimist!" ad campaign, the Fight F911 follies are boomeranging badly.
