Bush is coming here to the state capitol to take part in the 4th of July festivities-as another so-called 'official visit'. It's his 2nd fourth of July trip in as many years (can you say '6 electoral votes in a battleground state?')

and to top that off, dick cheney will be in our state the day before. this is an attempt by the GOP to create an all-out media blitz here and lock up a tight state for Bush.

Activist and labor groups are currently brainstorming for ways to counter this blitz. does anyone have any suggestions? we were thinking of some way to play off the patriotism and symbolism of independence day.

5. That was my first thought also.

But large posters from F9/11 might be a good idea too.

If I could, I'd have hundreds of life-size cardboard cutouts of Michael Moore everywhere the chimp went.

Bush returning to W.Va. for Fourth of July
* Vice president to hit Wheeling before Bush visit

By Mandy Rorrer
Staff Writer

President Bush will be the featured speaker at Charleston’s expanded July Fourth celebration, the White House confirmed Friday.

Vice President Dick Cheney also will make a stop in the state, visiting Wheeling on July 3, the Bush-Cheney campaign announced.

Bush will arrive in Charleston the afternoon of July 4 and then return to Washington, D.C., that evening to watch fireworks from the White House lawn.

6. Sign: "Welcome to the Mountain State, Mr. Cheney! GO FUCK YOURSELF"
It would 'make you feel better', as he said.
