"Bushie Horror Picture Show"

From Comments at Atrios:
Re: "Bushie Horror Picture Show"
Here are a few ideas:
Wolfowitz comb scene: Audience yells out "ewwwwwwwwwwwww" in unison and tosses tube of Brylcreem at the screen.
Bonanza scene: Audience members point index fingers at ceiling and yell, "Bang! Bang! Smoke 'em out! Dead or alive!"
Shock and awe scene: Audience members bring out New Year's noisemaker toys and make incredibly loud racket while repeatedly chanting at screen: "Shock! And! Awe! What! A! Ball! Shock! And! Awe! What! A! Ball!"
And of course audience members would be encouraged to dress up as their favorite character. Those who like Cheney, for example, could wear a Dr. Evil-type outfit with wire-rim glasses and a bald wig. (Hardcore Cheney fans could shave their heads.)
Shrub fans could honor their hero in a variety of fashions. Perhaps you'd like the Faux Cowboy Shrub look and, during the appropriate scene, you could crawl through the theatre, under the seats and through the rows, in order to clear brush and look for bugs. Or maybe you could show up with your #1 wood and you'd be able to make that drive right along with Dear Leader. Just make sure you don't smack any of your fellow audience members!

1. ROFLMAO - don't forget the toast
I was thinking about Rocky Horror too while I was in there and was wishing I had some toast to throw at the screen every time Chimp appeared.

2. reported in a thread yesterday...
during the "fool me once...." scene, someone at a showing shouted out:

"spit it out you dumb ass!" (or something close to that)

a RHPS scenerio was also discussed, but, really, there is too much serious SERIOUS stuff in the movie for that to really work (imho)

3. I was the person who posted that at Atrios
In that post, I didn't mention my first idea, because someone else had come up with the same exact thing upthread:

Whenever Cheney appears on the screen, audience members should shout in unison: "GO FUCK YOURSELF!"

Also, another idea that's occurred to me is a special print of the film with the lyrics to "When Eagles Soar" in subtitles with a bouncing ball so the audience could sing along with John Ashcroft.

But yeah, I do agree that there may be too much serious stuff in F911 for this to actually work. Also, even if it could work during the funny parts, I think we first have to kick the Shrub out of office in November before we can start thinking about midnight shows with audience participation.

Or maybe a special feature on the DVD that would include prompts to the audience and the lyrics/bouncing ball thing.

4. Congratulations! It will happen - as F-911 will run after Bushco will be
gone. It will serve as catharsis and reminder - to never let their kind back ever again!

5. Rocky Horror Was The Analogy I Made To Friends!
the way the audience was interacting with the FILM and EACH OTHER!

This could become a "cult classic".

7. Midnight showings at second tier theaters....
the original RHPS became a phenomena because it gave kids who thought they were alone a peer group. I could easily see this movie doing the same thing.

11. the irony there
Is that the Rocky Horror crowd soon was made up of the in-crowd 'cool kids' who used the movie as a way of proving how hip they were. Just like all those kids with mohawks and orange hair in the punk-era were conformists by the sheer bulk of their phony rebellion.

I was outside the outside... and still am I guess. I don't get the continuing appeal of a lot of what people consider 'cool'.

10. What about the sad scenes?
Also, I know this is just a thread but I don't want the movie to be made into a joke too quickly. Let everyone see it normally, with the laughter, and tears and clapping first.
