Bumper Sticker Moment
I was driving through Sun City, AZ today, wearing my John Kerry bumper sticker, proudly, in the back window of my red pickup when the thought hit me, "Hey, I'm in Sun City. Wonder what they think of my Kerry sticker?" I didn't have to wonder long before I pulled up next to a car with this sticker on it:

"Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Republican!"

Oh the times... they are a changing.

1. Yes They Are
In the past few months, I've only met two individuals who admitted for voting for Dimbo the last time.

2. I have to remember that one. Wonder where I can get one.
Thanks for sharing. I am in MS and have a Kerry bumper sticker on my rear window. Fortunately, as of today, nothing has happened, but we have months to go.

:hi:

3. SunCity has a strong Democratic Club
those old folks are mainly retired middle American's who worked for the union and saved their money. No repub stronghold except for the pre-Reagun repubs who can't hold their noses tight enough to vote for Bush again

9. That's a pretty insightful thought
and would make a great bumper sticker. Of course, if you listen to the Republicans, it's our education that tends to liberalize us. We're all "ruined" in college.

6. I got a honk and thumbs up today
from a young guy in the car next to me... he was very revved up it seemed. This in a rather republican neighborhood of Ohio... must have liked the Kerry or Air America stickers.

11. If we passed you, we'd do the same thing.
I don't want to cause friction with the apolitical nonprofit where I work, and there are FReepers there, so I fear I would, but any time we pass anybody with a Kerry or anti-Bush* sticker, we make sure to honk and wave. Somebody suggested I put magnetic backers on the stickers and put them on when I'm not parked at work, but I admit I'm memory-impaired. I'm afraid I'd forget to take the sticker off, and then the feces would hit the oscillating mechanism.

14. Fear not the Freepers!
They'll all be going back under their rocks soon. I understand about not wanting to cause friction at work, though. But, on the other hand... this IS the United States of America! We are free to support and vote for whom we choose! That includes sporting stickers on our cars! (Horrid be the publicity against anyone denying me my right to put a bumper sticker in my window!)

Ok. I'm going to sit back down now.

19. I genuinely would like to be that way ...
but it took me for freakin' ever to find even that job, and at least not everybody there is a wing-nut like the last one I had. I'm more concerned about affecting the overall organization -- which really does come across as apolitical, to its credit -- because the nuts I work with would get their panties in a twist over my advertising my politics.

So I send money -- about which they can say nothing -- and my spouse has stickers on his car. If I see another yard sign for Kerry in my neighborhood, I might go for that. The teenaged froot-loops in my neck of the woods have already egged our 'spare car' that was sitting at the curb two or three times, and smashed the driver's side rearview four times just because nobody keeps their delinquent asses busy enough at home -- I'm sure being the first on my block would make us a target for more of that behavior.

shivers....talk about a fake twilight zone sort of place - I got trapped going through there a couple years ago...Huge hospital on a hill like some kind of temple...really shiny white and plasticky - why would anybody want to live there? Frightening really.

16. No real hills in Sun City, but I get your drift.
It is kind of Stepfordy, isn't it?

yeah - actually I started to say a real Stepfordville sort of place and changed it to twilight zone. Make a great site for a zombie movie, plenty of extras on hand and everything...

20. Now, that's mean.
There are some EXTREMELY nice people in Sun City. It's just the Del Webb master-planning of it that seems a little, well... how does that Twilight Zone song go?

13. My Kerry bumper sticker got ripped off at Mall of America
the jerk peeled it off and dropped it on the ground. I guess the little a-hole couldn't get the edge up on my defoliate bush sticker.

15. So, put 10 Kerry stickers on your car. That would take a long time
for somebody to peel off! LOL!
