Libertarians Announce "Unauthorized" RNC Protest
http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/alerts.htm

The Manhattan Libertarian Party announces an "unauthorized" RNC protest in Central Park on August 29th. New York, claiming that the only permit they need to peaceably assemble is the First Amendment. Members of the Manhattan Libertarian Party announced today that they will gather on the Great Lawn on Central Park on the eve of the Republican National Convention to protest the Iraqi war and occupation and the PATRIOT Act.

2. Good for them.
After the election we will find things to disagree with Libertarians about such as health care but for now even if they won't vote for Kerry they sure as hell aren't going to vote for Bush*.

5. That's what I've been trying to tell my family....
My mother is 100% pro-Bush (for some reason), but I'm trying to get her to at least vote Libertarian instead of for Bush.

Good for them!

8. I've got some libertarian sympathies...
Especially the legalization of marijuana.

I think that if we took the social libertarian stance of removing government from the lives of private citizens, we'd have a solution to the War on (some) Drugs, abortion, gay marriage, etc.

I know she'll never vote for Kerry, simply because he's a Democrat, but at least voting Libertarian will let her be the Nader of Republican voters.

I'd love to, but she'd never go.

Hell, my father showed me "Roger & Me" for the first time when I was ten, and he even voted for Reagan twice. He was a Republican business professor, and still liked "Roger & Me." I don't know what happened to my mom....

(on edit)

By the way, I like your avatar. I've still got my "Dean for America" sign hanging in my studio.

11. Libertarian+Constitution Vote
will drain at least as much from Bush as Cobb/Nader will take from Kerry.

Maybe more

12. libertarians, huh? wonder if they're getting their money from the same
source as Nader.

I'm getting more and more frightened of a 1968 scenario, only this time thuglikkklan provacateurs, under whatever phony aegis you choose, create all sorts of havoc, with the consequences not only affecting the vote, but allowing the nazis to crack down even more heavily on protest than they've already been doing?

you think they haven't discussed this already?

you think they aren't capable of anything?

my guess is they'll try something like this, and if it doesn't work, look out for some terra scenario.
