The next couple of weeks will tell the tale about Bush Administration...
Will his polls drop like a rock when violence increases in and around Baghdad? Will the US troops be called in to quell major disturbances throughout the "neighborhood"? Will there be a mutiny to get rid of Dick Cheney on the ticket? Much will be known about the "new" direction the Bush campaign is going within a couple of weeks. This is critical stage and they know it. Their only hope is that the Iraqi forces can take care of most of the problems that arise and that no more Americans will die in this misadventure. If Americans continue to die after June 30th, it is a big negative for Bush and the Republicans.

1. And don't forget the movie!
I have a feeling that's going to have an even bigger effect than I previously thought.

I know people who are clamoring to see it now, based on what they hear from peope who have seen it. And the bigger a deal the right wing makes out of it, the more middle of the road people WANT to see it!

2. Americans dying in Iraq is guaranteed
As long as the soldiers are in country, they will be targeted, and will be getting killed. Whether the press reports it is another question.

7. That may be, but how many Americans listen to or watch BBC?
As long a most Americans get their news from NBC, CBS, and ABC (remember, a minority of people get cable), and listen to Rush Limbaugh, their ability to get at anything that closely resembles the truth is limited.

3. I Don't Think There's Anything He Can Honestly Do
To pull his chestnuts out of the fire he built for himself.

I think he and his gang aren't above manufacturing an incident to keep him and his gang in power for another 4 years though.

5. Look for a sudden "capture" of
bin Laden long about October 20th; they know where he is, can even lay hands on him-they're just waiting...

6. Well, it's unfortunately going to get ugly when Martial Law takes effect.
Good thing we went all the way over there to "free" the Iraqi people, eh?

Who's going to enforce this Martial Law, anyway... three guesses, first two don't count.

Thankfully, June has not been too terribly a bloody month for US troops, but then again, we've been laying low and not really engaging the enemy. That's all about to end, when our soldiers are dispatched to quiet the Iraqi street.

kentuck, I just don't envision any scenario for Bush where the situation in Iraq gets better before November. Iraq is his legacy, and as he has chosen to live by that sword, that sword will also hand him his next election defeat.
