It's usually an exponential decay curve. The first week is when most films earn the bulk of their box office take. After that, anything else is gravy.

OTOH, it's hard to imagine how a movie which made $8.5 million on its first day and popped $20+ million in the next two is dropping by 25%. Maybe 12%, but not 25%. By the time it leaves theatres, my guess is it will have taken in over $50 million. Then the DVD will come out and earn another $50 million.

This is the first documentary of its kind. Nothing else has even come close. And it must push the rightwingnuts over the edge to think of it in these terms.
