Calling all Canadians! Will F9/11 have any influence on our votes?
Considering that Harper (the conservative) is a Bush-wannabe, do you think voters who were fence-sitters will decide to vote Liberal or NDP?

Do you think it has alerted voters to the importance of their vote?

Do you think it will wake up Canadians that the right wing of our government holds some really anti-social views, such as the gay marriage issue?

1. No
I, like many, haven't seen it, it came out too close to the election. Harper's a dick, yes. I hate the fact he's gonna do well this year.

2. Whoa, HeyHey!
Who said he's gonna do well this year, LOL?

I know, it seems depressing sometimes, but you never know. I'm in PC country Alberta, so my vote doesn't usually count unless the country goes Liberal - but I'm going to retain my optimism!

You never know - BC voters do not seem that keen on Harper, and the results will be broadcast before the polls close there, so I have a feeling that many will hold off until they see the trend.

Interesting election anyway. Martin should have waited until the fall though.

4. The Conservatives are polling poorer in BC than the Alliance in 2000.

Yes, that's the "united right."

The Conservatives will lose seats in BC, hold on in the Prairies and in Atlantic Canada, go zero for 75 in Quebec and pick up some in Ontario (though they've fallen behind the Liberals here).

There will be no Prime Minister Harper.

7. We can only hope
"There will be no Prime Minister Harper"

I hope you're right! I'm already having serious anxiety attacks about a Reform-Alliance-Conservative victory tommorow. I'll be making my way to the polling station to cast a Liberal ballot.

I should add that Farenheit9/11 also played in Calgary, I saw it last night.

3. nope
We have our issues, and we've largely already made up our minds on them. And most of us know what Harper's positions are, and we reject them.

CTV:

Canadians prefer left-leaning minority: poll

In an Ispos-Reid polled conducted for CTV News and The Globe and Mail released Saturday, pollsters asked voters which minority combinations they'd most like to see.

Voters were asked: If Canada has a minority government after the next election, would the following be acceptable or unacceptable for you: A Liberal-led minority government supported by the NDP?

More than half of those polled (56 per cent) said they'd prefer this left-leaning combination.

Among decided NDP voters, a Liberal/NDP coalition seems especially palatable. Eighty-one per cent would approve of the partnership.

6. All Canadians
Don't live in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver.
F 9/11 is not available until July 2, 2004.
Where the movie could have caused people to think beyond voting for a fence post, they will have to wait for the next election to see if it has any impact.
