F 911 already online (file sharing)
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 04:16 AM by ps1074
I visited this web site where they have F911 up for download. From what I understandd someone filmed it with a cam in a theater and the quality is not very good. Still people say it is watchable.

I won't post the website URL here for legal reasons. If you are interested PM me and I will send you the URL.

One fact though - at this moment there are 15.110 (fifteen thousand one hundred and ten) people downloading the movie.

This might be good even if you don't approve file sharing. file sharing is used mainly by younger people. They need to see it and vote in Nov.

1. Not a good idea.. The movie needs our ticket sales..
If people steal it, it diminishes its impact.. This is about more than just seeing the movie :)

5. I believe Moore said he doesn't mind...
I read somewhere in a thread that he doesn't mind if F911 is downloaded because he thinks everyone should see it.

Since I'm not in the US and it will probably be several months before it opens here, I'm going to download it. I do plan to go when it opens and buy the DVD, though. :P

10. He has said that.
He was speaking more of DVD copies and downloads, but the way he said didn't seem to show any objection to free distribution as long as no one else is "making a profit off of his labor" (his words, not mine).

I've seen a sample (2 or 3 minutes) of the downloadable version that's out there. It's watchable, and the audio is good, but I've still paid to see it in a theater once and will probably do so again to catch what I missed the first time.

6. Download the movie....
I will support MM in ticket sales and purchase the DVD. People should be paid for their work, but I think he would understand because he wants to send a message...

11. I agree SoCalDem. This is about shattering the myth that...
"the overwhelming majority supports the President." This is about realizing that yours is the majority opinion.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that many, if not most, of the bootlegs are done by Bush supporters. I posted elsewhere that I turned in a guy with a Bush/Cheney tee shirt with a camcorder at F911.

2. I'm going to see it later today...
then I'm going to get it on DVD when it comes out...

I don't trust getting it off the internet...call me paranoid...besides...I want to see and hear audience reaction...that makes it worth it...

3. It's not a bad thing.
File sharing never stopped anyone from spending money when they were willing to. A lot of people might download the movie because they can't afford to see it in the theatre.

And then there are folks who want a copy of it now. Even a low-quality theatre taping is better than waiting until November for the DVD...

7. The vast majority of DUers already know most of what Moore
lays out in the movie. This is an event. The best thing, for me, at least, about the movie was seeing the packed theatres and realizing that we're not alone.

People need to go see the movie at the theatre.

12. Watching it in a theater is a group experience
Watching a movie in a theater is a GROUP experience.

We might know a lot of the facts in the movie and might be moved by them - but it's also important to sit in a theater with hundreds of other people and hear how THEY react to the same movie.

Movie-going is an important ritual these days. I think the more people see F911 in a movie theater, the better.
