Bush & Co. say "Uh oh...Quick, give the Iraqis the keys...TODAY!"
Why transfer "authority" early?? Remember everything Bush & Co. does is for a specific reason.

Maybe because there are a couple of news stories that need to be downplayed as much as possible like....

1) *Billions* of dollars missing that were overseen by the Iraqi Coalition Provision Authority. ( http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=15&u=/ap/britain_iraq_funds )

2) A real-live Marine kidnapped and threatened with beheading in Iraq. ( http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=19&u=/ap/iraq_hostages )

3) And to a lesser extent, Fahrenheit 9/11 is breaking box office records and opening eyes all over the nation. ( http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=487&e=5&u=/ap/box_office )

I'm sure the "insurgents" were gonna light up Iraq like the 4th of July come the 30th, but trying to steal their thunder just ain't a good enough exuse for me.

But what do I know? :-(

1. Grandstanding for the Monday "news" cycle.
Obvious manipulation of morning network propaganda shows to obscure the three real stories listed above.

Handing off "sovereignty" two days early achieves nothing of substance, of course.

7. I think Wednesday is the day (the 30th)
Most Grand Juries are impaneled for a set period of time. I bet that this specific Grand Juries term will expire on the 30th. Therefore, I suspect the indictments will come on that day. Bushco knows that and did not want to have that news overshadow the transference of power story, so they accelerated it by two days.
