Talking Points Memo - Tectonic shift is Niger forgeries
This would indeed be big news if the Cheney/PNAC axis was the source of the Niger document forgeries. Josh says he *knows* something...

There has been endless speculation about who this mystery man was and who actually did the forging. Was he the forger? And if so, what were his motives? If not, who put them into his hands? And what were their motives?

According to the Financial Times article, that business man is likely himself the forger of the documents and he has a long history of bad acts which, they say, discredit him as a source of information. That last tidbit plays a key part in the FT story because, in their words, the provider of the documents is "understood to be planning to reveal selected aspects of his story to a US television channel."

That's what the FT says.

I hear something different.

In fact, I know something different.

1. Soooo, what is he saying?
That FT is "muddying the waters"? It's actually a good strategy for the bad actors.
When the real truth comes out, the MW's can say, "But the FT said..."

2. That's right
We've seen it all along with these 'actors', they always have a competing quote or article up there no matter how discredited (like the forgeries themselves) to give ammunition to the notion that the jury is out on the matter or nobody really knows what is going on here...

3. Sizzle sizzle sizzle!
We'll see about the steak.

This is getting old - reminds me of the Segway secrecy flap, though I'm guessing Marshall's bombshell is better.

How do you keep a moron in suspense?

TELL YOU TOMORROW!

5. I agree, I'd like to know *now*
However I see the power of appropriately timed releases of damaging news. The opposition is playing this brilliantly IMO.

4. Drip, drip, drip,
I'm looking forward to the day this story breaks. I'm sure Dick F***ing Cheney will provide some colorful quotes, if not go totally bat-shit.
