Walked Up To A RW Co-Worker And Plunked $10 Down On His Desk For F-9/11
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 04:37 PM by matcom
he said during a smoke break that he wouldn't give Moore $.02 for his "Propoganda Movie"

so......

I walked into his office and dropped a $10 bill on his desk. he asked what it was for.

I told him that if he agreed to go see F-9/11 and then DISCUSS the movie with me afterwards (and its merrits) then the $10 was for him to pay for his ticket.

He asked me if I was serious. I indicated that indeed, I was.

He said, "YOU are giving ME money to go see a movie?"

I said on ONE condition. YOU have to PROMISE to not only SEE the movie but calmly DISCUSS it with me after you see it.

He agreed. We shall see. Hey, its only $10.

Stay Tuned.....

6. i have all the docs lined up
if he comes back and says that the gov't DIDN'T fly the Bin Laden's out?

got the proof (including Clarke's testimony - on paper)

If he has a prob with Bush's military 'record'?

got the docs

i have a HUGE stack of reputible NEWS STORIES to take care of almost anything he comes back with.

if he is willing to learn, i am willing to edumacate :)

Just get him to think and start a dialogue. Changing minds is not necessary...

What a great gesture that was. I'm sure that that alone has opened his eyes a tiny bit.

Please do let us know about the resulting convo!

9. It also shows that you REALLY CARE about your beliefs.
Most people, certainly most Repubs I know, would never dream of giving 1 buck much less 10 to try to influence you to their way of thinking.

8. good for you and how fun. just wrote on another thread
fundie friend wants to see 9/11 and doesnt want to pay. you dont i say, and why. well i dont feel great about moore. so i say, in all your morality you are going to be dishonest, like the other freepers i am hearing. tell me how that works. how can you sit in judgement of all as you giggle about theft.

dont worry about it i tell her, i will pay, i dont mind moore getting the money and in all my evil liberalness, i will be honest. and i want you to go to the movie anyway

she was surprised others had suggested not paying to get into moore. told her yup, seems to be a pattern of behavior

how am i countering this conservative roll. boldly and without fear i am calling them on their "christianity" in all aspects of their life. as they are doing with others.

i am a good girl i am, wink..........i can throw the first stone, bah ha ha ha ha

12. I'm going on a short trip today but when I get back I am
going to see it again with several people, and I am paying for the tickets for five of them (then I need to turn around and make a donation to DU!!!).

They thought I was crazy, too, but I had the same stipulation: we had to agree to calmly discuss the points the movie made afterwards and I would pay for their tickets (but no popcorn, sorry!). They are already acting nervous. Anyone willing to PAY for the ticket for someone to see a movie must believe in it.

your convinctions, beating Bush etc. to spend 10 dollars on HIM. Seriously. Even if the guy totally discounts everything in the film, that is something that any reasonable person has to respect.

32. Great work
I'm anxious to hear the results. I vote at a time, even if he does not say he has changed his mind he will never look at the news the same way. A seed of doubt is all you need. Kind of like the alcholic who visits an AA meeting, drinking is never the same. Maybe all it will take is one more mis step by the administration to finally change his mind after he has seen it. What a great idea

I'm gonna place a classified ad in the little local paper (small pro-Shrub OK town) offering to pay for tickets for the first 10 republicans who'll agree to go and see the movie. Maybe 20. I can spare a bit if it'll just make some of these jerks think a little...

46. Good Luck
I have one RW friend who refuses to see it or let anyone pay his way, because he doesn't want to do anything to put money in Moores pocket. Nor will he look at a bootleg copy.

However, he has said he will borrow a copy of DVD from someone in September, as he's not putting money in Moore's pocket then. Perhaps there's hope.

Kicker is he's unemployed, yet another example of *'s "economic recovery"

I didn't pay for it though, and I wouldn't have either, because frankly I considered him a hopeless case, but *HE LOVED IT*!!! He was shocked that there was so much that the media had kept from the public. He told me that I was right about Bush, and that the war really was for oil!!! I was absolutely stunned....I would have never thought a 2 hour film could change somebody's mind so drastically.
