Kerry slaughtering Bush in AOL Straw Poll
AOL has been running a "straw poll" in which only their members are allowed to vote. I have always considered AOL members to be center-rightish based on other polls they have taken, but in this one Kerry is leading Bush in all but seven southern states (not including Florida!) Based on current polling, they give Kerry 442 electoral votes and Bush 96.

Every AOL member is allowed to cast one vote each month. It will be interesting to see if this continues along its present trajectory.

5. Straw Poll link
Log onto AOL, type in keyword "Straw Poll". Members only, unfortunately.

I've been a DU member for two years, but just recently got pissed off enough to figure out how to post here.

6. Good news
AOL users aren't a representative sample though.

Internet users in general are more educated and more likely to live in urban areas: both demographics extremely favorable to Kerry.

8. click "Keyword" at the top of the AOL screen
. . . then enter "straw poll". You'll get a grayed-out map of the US, but once you click on any state to see its results the entire map will light up.

9. Holy crap, this poll is awsome.
Kerry is only a few votes behind Bush in Texas.

I wonder how accurate this poll is though.

11. This cheery news is welcome
I canceled my AOL two months ago after being with them for over 10 years. I can verify that all polls on AOL were to the right. It was really frustrating to me because I believed that AOLers were a bit more of the educated sort. Perhaps they are just slow learners and are now catching up. Hope so.
