Nader may be more of a factor than he looks today. Read why.

Just saw another post about Nader being on the cover of "American Conservative" magazine. The article had him talking to Buchanan. Didn't give it much thought - just another example of Nader going off the deep end I thought... OR IS IT. Read that he seems to be going anti-immigration, again not to much thought about it. Then I read all these post about Lou Dobbs. Lou is very very anti-immigration. He says it would be a winning issue for a presidential candidate. Lou has given Nader friendly interviews in the past on his show. I think immigration or anti immigration is what we will be seeing from Nader. Buchanan Could help pull some of the right his way. And Nader's less than clear stand on social issues will not hurt him with this crowd. And he could swing right with out appearing to be pandering. Remember "I don't do 'gonad-al' politics"? Immigration is a big issue in North Carolina and South Carolina. I live near both states. Just today, I read about jobs leaving the Carolinas to go overseas. I would not count Nader out if this is the direction he plans to take. He could figure he is out of the picture with the left - and try to go for White working class voters.

Our exploding population growth brings a million plus market to lots of businesses. So many special interests benefit from it, that neither the GOP nor the Democratic Party is willing to publicly talk about the negative downsides that affect most Americans.

platform will appeal to have been voting Republican since Reagan, and may have supported Perot in 92 less so in 96. Nader - Buchanan? is not out of the question. The two are Friends, and Buchanan credits Nader with his changing position on economic issue. Both are pretty much on the same page as far as the Middle East goes.
Nader could claim Buchanan opened his eyes on social issues. And you would have a total appeal to the white working class on ALL ISSUES. Plus Nader will blunt some of Buchanan's negatives and vice versa.

I don't know whether Dobbs refers to legal or illegal immigrants, but Dobbs is right... 83% of Americans think illegals should be deported. If Nader goes anti-immigration we're F***ED.
If a well-known conservative (not Nader) did the same thing, Bush would be screwed as well, though he'd be likely to counter by going anti-immigrant himself.

Very much. Most of these people have been voting Republican. but I think we would be a little surprised at the votes in Nov, if such a senario takes place. Anti immigration may not be cool in the PC liberal get togethers like this one, but that does not mean that some Democrats who are no fans of Bush will not take look at something like this.
As I have mentioned here berfore Buchanan is not exactly a Bush Republican, primaried poppy and ran in the reform party against JR.

I have heard something about NC today. I read an article today in the yahoo press releases that talks about allowing third parties to gamble so to speak on peoples life insurance policies in that state.
