'9/11' documents a mother's grief
Fahrenheit 9/11 might be polarizing much of the nation, but there's one thing about the controversial Bush-bashing documentary most viewers probably will agree on: Key scenes featuring Lila Lipscomb are gut-wrenching and haunting.
I don't want any more mothers — Americans or Iraqis — to feel this pain," Lipscomb told USA TODAY on Monday. Still, moving from Bush supporter to war critic has been hard.
Michael was fantastic," Lipscomb says. "I hope everyone will see the film. I hope it will open people's eyes and make them begin to ask questions and start speaking up for themselves."

1. Interesting
The article says Moore contacted her after her son's death. From the way the film plays it seems like we're meeting her before he dies, and watching her metamorphosis.

5. I don't understand that. You're right, he seems to be interviewing her
before his death and she seems to be fine. I can't imagine that as a re-enactment - I mean, how would she be able to do that, unless she's also a professional actress? I wonder if the article is incorrect on that point, and that he contacted her AGAIN when he found out about her son's death.

Anybody out there know?

2. My sis said People magazine had an article about Lipscomb also
Talk about exposure to mainstream America.

I haven't seen that article but hoping that it might motivate some more people to see the movie.

And I agree, Lipscomb's grief is gut-wrenching and haunting. She is a truly a courageous person and I am grateful to her for sharing her story.

3. Lila Lipscomb is one of the big reasons that people will ignore the
exhortations of the RW media about the "lies" in 9/11. (Isn't it funny that they all say it's a pack of lies, but are then unable to list even one?)

Women, in particular, who are apolitical, will believe Lila Lipscomb, and will go to see the film. When the women of this country get fed up enough with what Bush is doing to this country, we will win.

4. Everyone is touched by Lila Lipscomb ...
I've heard people say all sorts of things about the movie, good and bad, but they always mention Lila. EVERYONE can relate to her.
