The Strengths of F9/11
I saw it last night and was not surprised at all at any of the facst and evidence that were put out in the film (since I know most of it already).

The strength of the film is that it lets Bush and his administration incriminate themselves, both by connection and by well known facts that are already out-there.

For instance, the part where Bush jokes with his base of "Haves and Have-Mores". Show Bush as the Arrogant silver-spoon fed Frat boy that he still is, show's him as the son of privlegde that he always has been.

Sure Moore provides the narrative, and you can take that as you will, but it is really really hard to refute the film footage of Bush and what they actually have said. It is now an historical record.

The strength in the film, is not the narrative or the emotion or even the evidence, but the fact that it destroys the MYTH of Bush and his administration that their intrest is not us, but themselves.

1. Good post I like the positive tone. Drives home human costs of war too.
I like when the soldier says you can't kill someone without killing a part of your soul. Another generation that has to deal with what they did in their countries name.

2. another moment that stuck with me
The scene (from the 2000 campaign) when * and Jebbie are seated next to each other on a plane and * says "we're going to win Florida," then looks directly into the camera while adding "and you can take that to the bank." His beady little eyes are dark and chilling. It's not just confidence or even run-of-the-mill posturing. It's an unabashed claim that "the fix is in." One of those moments when the skin peels off and we see the evil lizard alien underneath. A glimpse of the real Chimp, the prick who laughed at Karla Faye Tucker.

3. I remember a scene on election night
Georgie was at dinner with Laura, Poppy and Barbara when they got the news about Florida going for Gore. The four of them cut their dinner short and went to the Governor's mansion. As they left the restaurant a reporter asked Bush for a comment and he said something about how they WILL take Florida - just like in the movie.

There was something about the way they all looked. I told my husband he looked like a defendant who bought the judge and was just told he was guilty. Not scared or unsure, but angry and determined to get what he paid for.

4. Yah I remember he said my brother promised me. It was one of those I can't
believe he said that.
