Poll: Bush, Kerry Even Despite Iraq Woes

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush's continued edge over Democrat John Kerry on leadership skills and battling terrorism are keeping the presidential race close despite widespread concerns about Iraq, a bipartisan poll suggests.

The Battleground Poll, sponsored by George Washington University, found Bush and Kerry running even, with 48 percent each in a two-way matchup. It also found signs the public is growing slightly more optimistic about the economy.

Kerry has the advantage with voters on issues ranging from Social Security and prescription drugs to jobs and federal spending. Bush leads on handling terrorism and has a slight edge on Iraq and - in this poll - on taxes.

Just over half in the Battleground Poll, 51 percent, said it's time to give a new person a chance to be president. Yet Bush continually matches up evenly against Kerry in many polls.

1. Kerry really should be
pulling further ahead...but in the media there isn't much difference between Bush and Kerry. Yes, he is pro choice, pro gay(somewhat) ect....but Americans havent really seen any Iraq or economic or healthcare detailed plans.

3. I have come to the conclusion..........
that as a whole the people are just plain ignorant. People should be clamoring for his impeachment, but instead he is still perched to possibly be elected. Just makes you kind of lose hope, but, I will keep on doing my best to inform others of what is really going on.

6. But Bush Can Do $70M of Negative Ads Every Month Until Election Day
They obviously work, and he has plenty of money left.
We don't.

4. Kerry would be walking away with it. If he had the guts to oppose the war
Instead of mimicking the Chickenhawk-in-Chief.

I'll stop panicking for now.

7. After the convention...40% of Americans have "no opinion" re: Kerry now
After the convention...unless the DNC Fs things up again.

Convention bounce, my friends.

Kerry is getting NO coverage right now and is keeping a low profile.

Nearly 40 percent of Americans have NO opinion about him almost 4 months from the election according to the latest NY Times/CBS poll.

Flush with cash and only a month to spend it, Kerry better get his BUTT in gear with some QUALITY tv ads.

8. Take heart, Andy. Amerikan polls are are believeable as Soviet polls
from 1978.

The only question is do they have the Vote Tampering to make it happen and the Lying Vote Tallies to Match the Lying Polls.

They will NEVER let the poll totals get lower than a tie, not for very long anyway.

But, in reality, the numbers are good, I think. In the absence of any belieable data, common to both the 1978 Soviet Union and 2004 Imperial America, I would guess (which is all we have left in such a Sovietized informational environment), I would guess that it's lcoser to 60-40 Kerry, if not more.

Most of the Moderates are now allied against the Busheviks, including Right-Centrists.

No WAY these polls are accurate.

Don't panic yet. If the Voting Systems turn out to be equally Sovietized (more than a small likelihood), THEN we have a problem.

But pay no mind to Soviet-style Bushevik Lies.

9. Relax
F 9/11 has been out one week. We haven't announced the VP yet, and the convention hasn't even started. This is still extremely early for the average voter to even be paying attention. After the convention when Kerry lays out his plan for America, the election will change. Just work hard and know that we are in for a ride.

12. Put Kerry and Bush on the same stage and see how this will
directly influence the "undecideds". Kerry should be able to deconstruct Dimson in 90 minutes. Can't wait for these debate(s) to happen.

11. Take a deep breath - there will be a Kerry bounce after the convention
...and the electorate doesn't pay attention until after Labor Day anyway. The Repubs get the last shot in at their convention, which is not good, but they'll be in NYC reminding everyone that they havn't done shit to capture OBL.

It will be a struggle, but for Kerry to be running even at this point against a President who had 90% approval three years ago is good. And that's without Kerry really getting his message out on the national stage.

10. It Has Nothing To With The Numbers But The Battleground Poll Is A Joke...
I could conduct a more scientific survey from my living room...

In 2000 they had Bush leading Gore by five percentage points on election day....

Yeah, I know Celinda Lake is a Dem who teams up with a Rep, Ed Goass to produce the poll but it's track record sucks...

I remember how they said the Clinton scandals woul sink the Dems in the 98 midterm elections...

I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP CITING POLLS FROM CRAPPY POLLSTERS

OUT

13. DNC goofing once more.
They allowed Gore to be Gored with "Credibility Gap".

Now "Flip -Flop" big attack point on Kerry.

Attack attack. Kerry and spokesmen should show anger. Big anger.

Hit em between eyes.Call them Liars. Liars.

Tell the people Bush is the flip flopper big time. Read my 58 Waffles which are big pancakes.

Do not allow it. Stop them. People believe Kerry weakness is flip flop which is junk smearing.

Hit em with 58 waffles with more to be added.

Who is advising Kerry? Delay?
