Anti-Bush/Flea market story
Was at a flea market this morning, and some man was hawking whirligigs. He said, "We got patriotic ones for Fourth of July? Aren't there any patriots here? Doesn't anyone love George Bush?"
Simultaneously, about eight people from all over yelled out, "NO!"
One man next to me, very quietly said, "I love Bush."
So I said, "Hey, I have some registration forms for the military. You should enlist."
He said, "I already was in the army."
His son (about four or five) said, "No you weren't."
The man told his son to be quiet.

On a similar note, I wore my DU shirt while shopping yesterday, and two employees at the Half-Price Bookstore commented on my shirt... they quickly scribbled down this URL!!

Eight folks screaming "NO!" That is priceless!!!

7. Well, at that age, kids are honest;
it's only later, and especially if they go to private schools, that they learn dishonesty.

10. That's awesome...
I was in Roswell, NM recently. While in the very packed gift shop at the UFO museum, several of my group were trying to decide where to go for lunch. Somebody mentioned a particular diner. A small older woman, most likely a native American, in line ahead of me, piped up "That's where Bush went when he was here. I don't go there anymore." Amid the laughter, I agreed with her that it must be contaminated now. This was one of the highlights of my trip.

12. Since when do you have to love Bush
to be a patriot? :wtf: Even more scary than the rampant nationalism they are trying to foster is this cult of personality they are trying to create. It truly is the climate that gives rise to despots.

But, your story gives me hope. More and more, I think the blinders are falling from people's eyes. What we need to do is to channel this effort into a massive GOTV effort.

I know deadlines vary from state to state, but make sure everyone you talk to is registered to vote and if they've moved or haven't voted in awhile, to make sure they contact their local election board to make sure everything is in order.
