FLINT - At the gym and at church, Lila Lipscomb draws extra attention that makes her realize just how hot "Fahrenheit 9/11" is.

The Flint woman is one of the "stars" of Michael Moore's new film, the first documentary to hold the No. 1 spot at the box office.

Some reviewers have said footage of Lipscomb talking about the death of her son, Army Sgt. Michael Pedersen, is the most compelling part of the movie. Pedersen, 26, died when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed April 2, 2003, in Iraq.

"Wherever I go now ... the looks on people's faces are kind of like, 'Is that her?' " Lipscomb said.

1. I sobbed like a little baby
during the scenes where she recounted how she got the dreaded phone call from the military, when she read his last letter, and when she broke down in front of the WH. I can't imagine the pain she must be suffering.

2. Dems should offer her a speaking slot at the Convention.
Carl Rove would shit in his briefs.

3. I think, er, I KNOW...that would be a BOMBSHELL the Pubs would
hate to see. But its the Truth... cannot be covered up like the naked statue in the Justice Building.

5. I totally agree
I was thinking about this earlier, but if they already have a speaking schedule lined up, it would mean dumping one person, and pissing off their constituency.

But yes, Lila Limpscomb in prime time!

4. Lila is the real deal - a true American who has been through it all
and gave the greatest gift but for what?

I can't imagine how I would feel today if I had a child killed in Iraq now.

I admire Lila for her strength and convictions.
