Remember Nader Trading in 2000?
Did anyone here actually make the trade beside the person who started the thread about Cobb? I got into some of the most heated arguments with Naderites about that subject. I'm fuming all over just thinking about it.

1. well, you said besides me
thing was, I was in a safe red state and was going to vote nader anyway. once I found out about nader trading I decided to switch back to gore and trade my vote (so basically I cheated someone into voting for gore... assuming they actually did)

I doubt nader trading is legal, but it was fun. Plus a lot of people really didn't want Bush, and even really wanted Gore, but still wanted the Greens to get the 5% or whatever so they'd have money and ballot access.

2. Why wouldn't it be legal?

It isn't contractual. No money trades hands. It's based purely on honor. There's no way anyone could prove if either party kept or didn't keep their word. I never got that nervous nelly argument against it.

3. i traded with someone from tennessee
...and felt ok about it. i voted for nader in indiana and got a nader voter in tennessee to vote for gore (or at least they said they did.)

indiana was hopeless for gore and but if he'd won tennessee we'd be working on gore's re-election right now.

4. I was one
I traded a Nader vote in Texas for a Gore vote in Oregon.

And I was thrilled to do so.

5. I traded from Texas to Washington St, if I recall correctly.
I had a email exchange going on with the lady for a couple months, and then we lost touch. She was very nice, and I trust that she did her part for me. I won't do it again, however.
