...I always thought I knew. But I never knew so much.

Incredibly powerful film. I heard the stories of standing ovations nationwide, and didn't know if I could expect the same at 4 PM on a Monday. People started streaming in 10 minutes before, presumably buying their tix early to be safe.

Half full at 4 PM on a Monday? That's pretty good. And I've never seen such a diverse movie audience. Ever. And I lived in NYC. And at the end...a standing o.

"For once...we agree."

1. Saw
the movie twice. First time went with the Kerry meetup group. Had all kinds of people coming up to us. It was if we were a magnet. Can't get the Burn song out of my mind that the soldier was singing. Plugging in and killing people. Really disturbing. Like it wasn't real.

2. It was more creepy than any horror movie
The vacant drugged out gaze/smirk on the boy/mans face will be hard to forget. Imagine that people like that will return to shop at the mall etc.

The whole scene so much more surreal and evil than the surfing scene in Apocalypse Now.

4. Alright, you got me that sounded/was dumb.
It was the last time I really got creeped out about something in a movie...OK forget it!

5. Cried for the dead and then for the living in that scene.
On the first time through, the scene made me nauseous and teary-eyed thinking about the terrible waste of life.

The second time through, I cried thinking about the terrible waste of hearts. Those soldiers will never be the same.
