My take on F9/11
OK, I know there's been a lot of negative posts so far about F9/11 and how it didn't cover everything. that's not what I'm about. Moore did a fantastic job with the movie, revealing just enough to keep it interesting and to open the eyes of those who have been blind until now.

Nevertheless...
I wanted to see more.
I wanted to see some things that I am currently seeing go down the memory hole. Probably wouldn't have worked well in the movie to have a lot of these things, but I want to see them discussed somewhere mainstream, becvause I would feel like we at DU are making more progress.
Here's some things I wanted to see more of:
1) The August 6 memo. They did briefly show CondiRice stating the title of the memo, from her testimony. I would have alos liked to have seen the point brought up that one of the reasons, and a big one at that, that no one knew any more about the attack time and place on 9/11 was because no one did any questioning. rice's testimony clearly stated that at that time she thought her job to be basically picking up memos from the CIa and delivering them to Bush. Had she actually acted like a National Security advisor, maybe she would have seen to it that some investigating were done. Who knows where that would have led? The idea that they couldn't have known where the terrorists were going to attack (WH defense during the testimony) is criminal, not to mention pathetic.
2) Approximately 6 weeks after 9/11, and somewhere around the time of the bombing campaign in Afghanistan, Pakistan offered us BinLaden if only we quit the bombing campaign. Bush played cowboy instead and said no strings or else. Result-we now have not gotten BinLaden, and Buish said it isn't a priority anyway. However, at the time, IT WAS OUR ONLY RATIONALE FOR BOMBING AFGHANISTAN! We were going to get Al Qaida, and that was it! So, apparently getting BinLaden wasn't that big a deal after all...
Picture it. We could have had BinLaden 2 3/4 years ago.
3) In January 2003, Hans Blix said there was no evidence found of WMDs in Iraq. Blix asked for more time to investigate, but Bush ordered the team out, then continued with the claim that Iraq has WMDs (as they still say today; it apparently is a very good tricksy line to tell stupid people).
4) Here's one that gets very little attention, and unfortunately I haven't seen any links to provide more information, but:
2 hours before the deadline expired for Hussein, he acceded to the demands to step down. Of course we know the rest; Bush attacked anyway.

I know there's other people that remember these things, because they get discussed here all the time (but I don't have links available, sorry. Anybody help me out?). I know that F9/11 really couldn't go into this kind of depth without making the film harder to watch. So really, my complauint isn't about the film so much as it's that I want to see these things get out into the light.
