Hello Everyone,
I hope all is well with you.
I heard on the radio a couple of nights ago the start
of a new movement. A gentleman called into Ray
Taliaferro (www.raytal.com) on KGO News Talk 810
(www.kgoam810.com) and suggested that we send tea bags
to the White House in protest of the people who have
weakened OUR country. Not a bad idea. Especially
considering the huge impact The Boston Tea Party had
on the birth of OUR great country.
Consider what The Sons of Liberty--they were among the
first patriots to demonstrate public opposition to
King George III by dumping the tea into Boston
Harbor--would do today to show opposition to the
current events we are now facing. They would be "shock
and awed" about the current taxation without
representation. They would be disgusted with Gitmo and
the reversal of civilized traditions of due process.
They would view the disrespect for people's civil
liberties despicable. And the current non-protection
of religious rights rejectable. I know what The Sons
of Liberty would do today. They would tea bag Bush!!!
Demonstrate your patriotism by sending your used tea
bags to the White House. Send one a month, two a
month, one a week, or if you can, one a day. The cost
for a 100ct Lipton is around $4.00. The envelopes are
about $2.00 for 100ct. The stamps cost 37 cents. So
the total cost is around 43 cents. That is $43.00 in
100 days. If you enjoy Starbucks everyday, they have
tea for 50 cents a bag. You can actually get a cup of
tea there instead of coffee and spend less than you
would normally there even with the postage included.
The White House is receiving the bags now and they may
or may not understand what's going on. George II is
probably wondering why people are sending him used tea
bags. But Karl Rove may understand. Soon it will be in
the tens of thousands a day, then in the hundreds of
thousands a day. And when the media gets their hands
on this story, other people of our beautiful country
will understand that they are not alone. The symbolism
will not be missed. And they too, will contribute by
sending in their used bags of tea.
Now, one last thing, this is important: A mail carrier
called in and said that tea baggin' Bush was a
wonderful idea, however, if you are sending used tea
bags make sure they are dried out or else the
envelopes will rip. Makes sense to me.
Send your used tea bags to:
