Somethings haunting me from F 9/11 - the music in the tanks
Edited on Wed Jun-30-04 07:04 AM by ChavezSpeakstheTruth
That whole sequence fucked my head up. I cant believe that as they're rolling their tanks through the streets tearing people limb from limb with depleted uraium rounds that they have Limp Bizkit or Korn or whatever playing in their helmets. It is so unhuman.

Every time I put my headphones on now I wonder if someone was killing en mass while listening to the same song (granted I don't think many were listening to Giant Steps but - you get my point). I have a REAL hard time listening to metal on the ear-goggles now!

You've seen the ABC footage of the helicopter murdering those 3 unarmed people - I keep picturing a 19 year old turning a person into a chunky cloud of hot red mist and entrails while they enjoy slipknot.

Has this happened to any of you?

2. well sure it is sick
But how else do you fight a war if you can't first teach them to hate, convince them they are defending america from a threat and then setting it all up like a big game? This is war, this is how war is fought.

3. The artistic community had a REVOLUTION after the horror of mechanized
war was first realized in WWI - what will the backlash to this level of inhumanity mean among the artists of today?

4. That was disturbing indeed.
Made more so by the close-up of the grunt singing "Burn motherfucker" beforehand. When the actual song played over battle footage, it really gave one the sense that darkness has consumed these young men's souls.

Yeah I’m hung like planet pluto hard to see with the naked eye
But if I crashed into uranus I would stick it where the sun don’t shine
Cause I’m kind of like han solo always stroking my own wookie
I’m the root of all that’s evil yeah but you can call me cookie
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
We don’t need no water let the motherfucker burn

Yo yo this hard-core ghetto gangster image takes a lot of practice
I’m not black like barry white no I am white like frank black is
So if man is five and the devil is six than that must make me seven
This honkey’s gone to heaven
But if I go to hell then I hope I burn well
I’ll spend my days with j.f.k., marvin gaye, martha raye, and lawrence welk
And kurt cobain, kojak, mark twain and jimi hendrix’s poltergeist
And webster yeah emmanuel lewis cause he’s the anti-christ
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
We don’t need no water let the motherfucker burn
Burn motherfucker burn

Everybody here we go
Ohh ohh

25. Great point!
Remember, these kids have been raised with killing video games and cartoons. It's not totally real to them I don't think.

They have been brainwashed before the military ever gets hold of them.

very sad.

8. It reminded me of the scene in Apocolypse Now
where the attack helicpoters start blasting out Wagner's 'Ride of The Valkyries' as they swoop in to wipe out villages. The guy in charge says 'It scares the hell out of them'.

Hey Chavez (Connecticut homegirl) - I agree --- that was the spookiest thing about the whole film.

Sometimes I think Iraq is a live fire exercise for these troops who will be used to do the same thing here against us after whatever new MIHOP October surprise these Bushzis have planned.

Lots of folks said the Panama invasion (operation Just Cause) was a live fire exercise for whatever hell the Bushes were planning next. Then came Iraq one and 100,000's of them mowed down like baby snakes in a lawn mower.

Maybe next time WE will be the ones burning while young pseudo satanists are shreiking "Burn motherfucker burn"

Yo --- that shit is really scary.

9. The Bloodhound Gangs official statement about MM and F911
"Fire Water Burn" featured in "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Michael Moore kicks ass. He's the master of delivering a compelling point in an entertaining manner. So, when he asked us to use "Fire Water Burn" in "Fahrenheit 9/11," we not only said "fucks yeah" but waived our normal fee. Anyone that pisses people off while making them laugh is okay in our book. Because of all the furor over the movie as of late, several media outlets asked us for a statement. So here's what we sent them:

As long as our troops aren't illegally downloading our songs, we could care less if we're killing machine bed music. We would rather the Bloodhound Gang be "The Soundtrack To War" than Creed. Now that would be embarrassing. Our president is a clown, so Michael Moore invited the whole world to laugh at him. We're proud to be a part of that.

I know many people who have been or are in the military.
That kind of music increases the adrenaline and helps motivate and focus them. "Powerful" mnsic has been used to motivate troops for centuries. How many armies have marched in to battle listening to a waltz or Yanni?

24. That type of music has been used for centuries
for motivation and I have no problem with that. I do have a problem when it is used as an excuse to kill innocent civilians and done in a caviliar fashion as was done by those soliders.

Your screen name is "genxpundit," I see. Gen X, from what I am told, is anyone born after 1965. I think that you and I may be about the same age, say, mid- to late 30s. I think that the services accept people up to age 40.

18. The brain and emotional association
Stripped of any other influence the killing of another human being is a tramatic experience. The persistant killing of humans will wear a person down in short order. The use of exhilerating music counters this emotional impact by overriding it. It removes the mind from the moment and places it into a condition where it is desensitized to the actions it is partaking in.

23. You're definitely on to something....
The real truth will come out in years to come....

It was a pure slaughter plain and simple.

I work on an army base and there are many of the "new breed" I've had first hand dealings with that are simply in awe of our fighting machine....to the point that it is greater than life.

Similarly...I've seen the young guys out of school coming in dying to get into weapons training classes....and when they do they go absolutely ga ga over the sky being torn apart with rapid fire rounds from ground and air.

The war machine that we've perfected is quite awesome and the volunteer army we HAD was the best trained and most highly motivated army in the world. That has all changed now because of W....and you will soon see a complete change in overall attitude about future wars because of this.

The point is simple...W completely USED this army to do his bidding. They came out and fought like it was the superbowl of all wars......

Too bad it was up against a 1970 army that couldn't even shoot back. My prediction is that within the next year we'll be at a point that we realize it was as bad as Vietnam....and about a year or two after that it will be pretty clear that it is far worse. The truth from these types of things always has a "jet lag" effect of about 2 to 5 years.
