The Iron Curtain fell over Miami yesterday
As people gathered to try and get a flight to visit their relatives in Cuba, many of the scheduled flights left without passengers because the State Department had not authorized them to carry them. Many were left behind, facing now the new restrictions that say they can only visit once every three years instead of every year, spend only $50.00 per day instead of $167.00, and stay only 14 days. An allowance has been given to allow those already there under the old rules to stay until August 1.

It appears to me that BushCo has decided that the way to depose Castro after 45 years of trying, is to further starve the citizens of Cuba (and perhaps pick up a few more votes and campaign contributions from the families of Cuban exiles)

After all, 10 years of economic restrictions in Iraq only gained 100 new Palaces and 500,000 dead children, until we spent 800 plus dead soldiers to depose Saddam.

I expect Castro to resign and send a salute to the Shrub any day now.

1. There goes the Cuban vote
Obviously, W doesn't care any more whether or not people vote for him. He thinks, he can depend on the touch screen voting machines to resolve any problems he might run into.

2. Bush is a cruel and stupid imbecile
even the exile community will be pissed about this.

very few were around in 1959 and even fewer care.

It is shadow spook government lobbying for this - the revenge of the Bushzis, and that is the only reason for this cruelty

6. If people understood
how much money the Bush family lost when Castro expropriated their ill-gotten gains back in late 1950s, they would know why this is occurring.

There is a local businessman who travels to Cuba on a regular basis to try to drum up business (he's a lumberman). He doesn't understand the embargo. He remains very loyal to the fascist regime however. He is a typical middle-aged Southern while male warmonger.

I have explained to him why he will never be able to do business with Cuba while Castro is in charge. I'm not sure he believes my account. But no other explanation makes any sense. Castro's victory was not only over Bautista, but over the CIA and Mafia who controlled that island.

There's his little lumber company and then there's The Company. The latter always takes priority.

5. So does this help Kerry win Florida?
I think it does. But I don't know what the sentiment there is.
So what's the word?
