I sent an e-mail to C-Span. I am sure I won't get an answer, but it
made me feel better. here it is:
I appreciate C-Span as the only TV source that transmits unvarnished events. However, this morning the Washington Journal program has been so UNBALANCED to the right that I think you need to provide some balance to the middle or to the left.

This morning started with David Brooks (minding the loss of civility: how come he didn't mind when the uncivil ones were only the right wing radio/tv shows? now the left is adopting some of the same techniques to respond...uncivility is all of the sudden unacceptable? hmmmmmm).

Then a Washington Post person -- the least objectionable of the bunch, but no liberal by any means.

Followed by York from the National Review denying that torture is torture because our torture is a better, cuter, nicer, American made torture.... insisting we got wonderful information out of the tortured people (contradicted by experts and, as a matter of fact, by Newsweek this week).

Then followed by a Bush adm. think tank on Iraq... they have gotten $10 M from the government to investigate Peace? How balanced are they?

Could you please, please provide a liberal (or even left-leaning) cover-to-cover program tomorrow? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

1. c-span will provide some centrist perspective
but rarely do they provide a left wing point of view.
i find c-span as much controlled by right wing voices as many other outlets.

2. Good! I miss this morning's Wash. Journal. But it sounds pretty bad. I
don't watch C-Span's WJ as much as I used to because of the callers. Seems RW callers who can barely get a thought out are allowed to rave on with all sorts of lies about Democrats for minutes but Democratic callers are cut off. I just found it was making me as angry as the Cable shows which I've pretty much tuned out.

I wish they'd bring back the format of having two guests with opposing views with the callers asking questions. But, that went out when Bush came in.

I guess I should write and complain about bringing the old format back, but realize they are run by the Cables for funding and we know what that means. They really don't have that much control over the format when their own funders are silencing voices that aren't in full support of Bush & Co.

3. Today was hilarious!
That old lady who called in from Oklahoma or somewhere in the middle states. She was screaming at Susan about her being a liberal and she made crap up! She said they only pick liberal calls.

Susan very calmly explained her phone lines (4 R and 4 D) and told her to calm down and not raiser her bloodpressure because it was only a political conversation.

I honestly don't understand these fascists...if they think David Brooks and Ken Adelman and The Weekly Standard/Heritage Foundation folks are liberal....well, this country is in worse shape than I thought.
