U2 To Perform at Democratic National Convention?
I seriously have my doubts on this one, but wouldn't it be cool?

------------------

(06-28-2004) Rumor: U2 To Perform at Democratic National Convention - Interference*
Rumor: U2 To Perform at Democratic National Convention

Ed. Note: Please understand we are reporting this as a rumor, not as fact. As noted by our readers, U2 has not endorsed an American political party in the past.

An Interference reader has written in to state that while listening to radio station WAAF in Boston she heard that U2 will be in attendance and performing at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. The convention will take place July 26-29th, 2004. We are currently working to confirm this story/rumor. Stay tuned.

Citing the "band's affection for Boston," as a possible reason to believe the band might show/perform, the Boston radio station is also still working on the story.

2. Isn't "Beautiful Day" Kerry's Campaign themesong?
This would be appropriate, it would rock, and I would be one happy little Democrat. :D :D :D

4. I've heard the same thing about Pearl Jam, from an insider
By insider, I mean someone who works for the Party.

6. i have to wonder about that one
eddie vedder has been very critical of the party under the DLC and backed nader last time

he may be on board for kerry, but i have to wonder if his support is anything more than lukewarm. i'd be very surprised to see PJ at the convention

5. As you can tell from my handle
I am a long time U2 freak. Rumors similar to this pop up every year with them. Every year you hear they will be at some festival or be playing on a rooftop overlooking the G8 or some such. It would be incredible if it happened, but these types of rumors have always been false in the past. U2 became so big that spontaneous appearances have dissapeared. :-(

7. An Irish band at an American political convention?
I don't have a problem with it, but it might seem a little odd to others.
