Green Party VP Candidate May Vote Kerry
http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/state/040630lamarche.shtml
LaMarche says she'll vote for whoever can beat Bush

Pat LaMarche, the Green Party's newly nominated candidate for vice president, said Tuesday that her top priority is not winning the White House for her party, but ensuring that President Bush is defeated. She is, in fact, so determined to see Bush lose that she would not commit to voting for herself and her running mate, Texas lawyer David Cobb.

1. Can the Green party be a bigger joke?
Not only do we have two Green parties (like there are enough Greens to be divided in half?) now they can't even endorse Ralph Nader. How many times can one tiny group of people split off from eachother! I agree with Green party values and would be tempted to get involved with them if any of the active leadership had any clue as how to run a political party. Ralph Nader didn't help any either by ignoring the Green party during the last 4 years.

2. Nader is the joke.
He is a right wing tool. He is paid for and supported by the republicans. I never dreamed that there would be a republican branch of the green party. Sadly, there are a few people here that support that branch too.

7. Ayup
And he gets all pissy when the Greens try to rectify their mistake of rallying around that man in 2000...
Regarding the original topic, good for her. She understands that any vote but for Kerry is a vote for Bush.
Makes me think that there might be hope for the Green party someday.

3. oh horse puckey
This woman puts people before politics. The Greens will gain alot more respect at all levels with people like her at the helm. Before regular voters are going to consider a 3rd party, they have to know that 3rd party isn't going to put purist ideology over progress. Ms. LaMarche clearly knows what's at stake this year and for that she has my respect. I'd consider voting Green at the local level out of appreciation, except my Congressman is about as far left as you can go on most issues anyway.

5. Yep
One signs up members who pay dues like a Nader style issue-based group. The other is a little more like a traditional political party. They discussed merging a few years ago and couldn't get their act together to do it. When the state Green party chapter endorsed Dennis Kucinich in New Hampshire one of the two national Green party organizations sent out a press release saying it wasn't a real Green party chapter because they weren't recognized with them.

The Greens had the chance to nominate someone with their own values for the Democratic ticket and they were too divided with internal bullshit and paralysis to make it happen. Pathetic. They have no one but themselves to blame for the Democratic nominee being a moderate.
