The 228 Year, Great American Experiment With Democracy Dies in 2004.
I have just one question for all Americans who call themselves Republicans:

Whereas, the Bush Administration has deliberately stacked the deck in its favor for the upcoming 2004 national election with fraudulent, paperless voting machines manufactured by the very good friend of the Bush family, Mr. Walden O'Dell, chief executive of Diebold Inc. who has publicly stated that he is committed to helping deliver "electoral votes to the president next year"; and

Whereas, Governor Jeb Bush has still continued his shameful purging of American citizens from the right to vote within the State of Florida to assist once again in delivering that state's electoral votes to his brother; and

Whereas, in the event that Bush might approach November far behind in the polls, it has now been revealed that the current White House has had its appointed minions at the new Federal Election Assistance Commission formally "request" that the government "establish guidelines for canceling or rescheduling elections if terrorists strike the United States again"; and

Whereas, it is now apparent that George W. Bush and his criminal associates have no intention of turning over the government in a fair election...

I only have one question for all Americans who call themselves Republicans:

As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July and after 228 years of our great experiment with democracy, couldn't the Republican Party at least have found someone brighter and more decent than George W. Bush to be our first dictator? Couldn't you Republicans have found someone out of the hundreds of millions of Americans who would have been a better dictator than George W. Bush?

1. Canceling and rescheduling elections? Is this why GWB knows he will win?

2. I'd prefer a revolution or civil war before
we let shrub have another 4 years. And if that ever happened, you're right, the America we know would still be gone!

3. The right to vote for the candidate of choice is central to our freedom
Some of them are even trying to keep Nader off the ballot, I guess because he is too far left.

4. You're right, DZ.
As we stand, holding flowers, by the gravesite of the Great American Experiment, we look back and reminisce.

"A beautiful thought, but unworkable"

"Many people gave their lives for this idea"

"a commitment to an ideal, which unfortunately was killed by corporate greed run wild"

As we wipe away a tear, we brush the dirt over the grave.

7. It's an ugly picture. I for one hate Monarchies by nature, as well as...
...Plutocracies, Kleptocracies and Aristocracies too.

Gawd forbid Fascists and Corporatists as well.

So what's a fun lovin', economic democracy diggin', Humanist to do?

PS~ It's a rhetorical question.
