General Hammond who has been in command since the first season has been 'replaced' as a regular character.. he's now in charge of..

"Homeworld Security"

and our boy Jack (Richard Dean Anderson), when asking who's going to take over, is told that it's "someone with good credentials in the military with significent experience", gives a snort and asks..

"ok, and who is this SHRUB?"

2. yes, I caught that too.

Also the two parter they did last season where the photo-journalist comes in to do a documentary on the Stargate program. He was met with their opposition and he gave a great speech about how the public, the American people have a right to know what their government is doing. I took it as a direct slap at bushco.
