Wow...Latest Bush argument
I hope I heard this correctly. I'm watching CBS news that has excerpts from campaign rallies. Bush said, (from memory) "Kerry wants to eliminate taxes on the wealthy. You know how the wealthy are...they have accountants. They will avoid taxes. This means the middle class pays." I know I don't have the exact words but that is the idea I heard. This is the lamest argument I've ever heard in a political speech. Anyone else hear this?

Not just lame... utterly stupid.
If a single person believes THAT, then they really are stupid.

Bushco* wants to eliminate taxes on the rich and pass the buck onto the middle and lower classes. That's a fact.

2. That's too complicated a soundbite.
Basically, he just indicted the rich for having a scheme for not paying taxes.
It will get better! Enjoy the show.

4. Next time it comes up (and it will)
Tell them they left out the most important word: Kerry wants to eliminate tax CUTS that the wealthy got that the rest of us didn't. Kerry wants them to COUGH UP. Bush wants to keep them getting a FREE RIDE on OUR BACKS.

Cripes, I'd dearly love to know who is feeding these dunderheads this stuff. Dark alleys and baseball bats come to mind.

5. If the wealthy have accountants
that they use to avoid paying taxes, why do they need a tax cut in the first place? Just askin'?

23. Bush* just wants to get rid of those evil accountants.
The rich need accountants to get around the higher taxes. So, if they get a tax cut, they fire their no longer needed accountants! It's brilliant.

Anyway, quit asking logical questions. The Chimperor's head might explode.

at a campaign event. It's outrageous! That would make a good clip to show in an anti boosh ad.

9. Yes, I believe it!
In the soundbite I just heard on the radio he was railing against 'those who would isolate us from the world by hacking other countries off' or words to that effect. Looking in a mirror today,George?

15. Leaving aside the fact that that is
total, utter and complete bullshit, since when has the Boy King Impostor EVER given a shit about the middle class or any other class that isn't his, for that matter? When has he even acknowledged their existence other than to call people who don't have as much money as he was born into "lazy" despite the fact that most middle and lower class workers have always had to work harder in one week than he has ever had to do in his whole life?

18. STOP! HOLD THE PHONE!

Think about this for a minute!

This statement ("rich people have accountants and don't pay taxes anyway") is unequivocally MORONIC.

Not only is it MORONIC, but it also shows something about shrub. He's rich, and from wealth, and so are all his buds. Says something about their ethics and taxpaying, eh?

So we are now in a situation where the President has carte blanche to make completely MORONIC statements and not get ridiculed or asked to explain himself or called on the carpet?

Just imagine if Kerry said something like this.

Is there any footage of this for Jon Stewart?

19. Hey! Bush has a personal accountant... Robert McClesky
who helped him with the Harken deal

http://bulletin.ninemsn.com.au/bulletin/EdDesk.nsf/0/767f7d4f827af6c4ca256bf70006e425?OpenDocument

And look at THIS article, that also not only mentions his *personal accountant* but shows that the fishing Bush out on the pig farm... is a fraud.

20. just when i think it's impossible for him to be any dumber
so, the logic is...

rich people find loopholes so they don't pay taxes. as president, where the buck supposedly stops, bush sees this problem and instead of trying to fix the tax code, he instead...

GIVES THEM ANOTHER HUGE TAX CUT!!! unbefuckinglievable. the fact that he's managed to live this long seriously undercuts the theory of darwinism... pretzel incident aside.

24. If the Chimporer believed that...
why in did he insist on lowering the taxes for the rich in the first place if believed that they don't pay their fair share?

I'd love to see a reporter point this out to him and ask him to explain it.

28. Just started a thread on this too...sorry.
Mine has a link to the exact quote, which is mindnumbingly stupid...you can't even tell what he thinks he's trying to say.

Also it ends with yet another reference to prescriptions and prescribing...good thing there's not millions of old people and middle class families having trouble with prescriptions thanks to...oops!

Let's both ask the mods to lock this one. This is so absurd that it deserves multiple threads.
