and they have somebody that wrote a book on Hillary to discuss "the issue".

2. Gail Sheehy (the writer): Teresa WON the right to that opinion.
The "columnist" belongs to a Scaife publication who have attacked her husband and the Kerrys.... GREAT ANSWER!!!

3. The "talking head" asks: Is America ready to have somebody like
her that says "shove it" on camera, expresses her opinion, and talks about her first husband. Sheehy said: Heinz was not her first husband, it is her deceased husband and he helped her become the woman she is... that is why she should be able to talk about her!

14. Was America ready to have a vp(sic) who told a United States
Senator to go fuck yourself on the Senate Floor. Maybe they should be reminded of that and stop this silliness about whether the future first Lady of our Land should open her mouth or not.

17. See? THERE ARE ELEPHANT ISSUES, CRIMES, MISDEMEANORS...
Therefore, let's concentrate on the unimportant that, if CNN the arbiter of opinion can use to "hurt" Kerry to avoid talking about the real PROBLEMS.

22. well they didn't have to SHOVE the microphone and camera
in her business. They went out of THEIR way to capture it.

When you have cameras on you constantly, it is impossible to go have private business.

It was deliberate and they are not going to win this one. Too many people are willing to back Teresa against 'scum'

4. They showed a clip of Jackie Kennedy as first lady vs. Teresa
They could have just compared wardrobes and hairdos, hello -- 40 years makes a big difference!! What an *unfair* comparison!!

We are ready for Teresa, CNN, whether you are or not.

6. That was such a clear attempt at putting Teresa down... But Sheehy
is doing great. She implied that Laura has really taking things backwards in terms of what a first lady could be thought to be (paraphrasing).

8. The talking head looked really STUPID... like she didn't want to have
a REAL WOMAN being a First Lady. I AM SURE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO FILTER THE CALLS TO HURT TERESA, THOUGH.

Well, as far as we know, anyway.

You make a point -- with all there is to talk about, why THIS?!

I'm not even female. Of course, if I told someone to shove it out their ass, no one would think twice.

Fuck 'em.

26. Well, that would be new in DC...
I think they're still getting used to "opinionated," though. I don't think your boas would go over well at state dinners. (And the blue lipstick's been done, by Cheney.)

what he got because of the way he had attacked the Heinzes and the Kerrys and tried to destroy the Clintons.

24. The Scaife Strategy: Smother Teresa
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 09:50 PM by 28erl
http://www.alternet.org/election04/19389

Colin McNickle did not enter the Democratic Convention as an ordinary reporter. As the editorial page editor for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a newspaper owned by eccentric rightist billionaire Richard Mellon-Scaife, McNickle came to Boston as an agent provocateur. "What happens when a conservative commentator infiltrates the Democratic National Convention?" the Tribune-Review asked in pre-convention promotion of McNickle's coverage. McNickle answered that question on Sunday, July 25 by provoking a spat with Teresa Heinz-Kerry.

27. SURPRISE!!!!! most of the callers SAID THE FIRST LADY SHOULD BE
OUTSPOKEN BECAUSE WE ARE IN THE 21ST CENTURY!!!! Only two women who sounded like old beadies said the First Lady should be "ladylike". I know this is unscientific but it is good for us.

29. And then there's the former First Lady...
who, around the time of the Iraq invasion, said she didn't want to
"...hear about body bags and deaths... Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
