Robert Novak says the Dems are planning to steal the election..LOL!

Here's an excerpt from the transcript of tonight's CNN Capitol Gang:


HUNT: I think the fundamentals of this race clearly are with John Kerry. Most people in America want change. They don't think that this is a very good record. And I don't think Bush is running on his record. We saw from that clip earlier, he's running that the other guy's a bum. That is his only hope. A state like Pennsylvania -- I agree with Bob and Margaret. You look at -- one test, Mark. Look at Gore's vote in 2000. I can't think of a single block in Pennsylvania where Kerry's going to do worse than Al Gore did...

HUNT: ... in 2000, exactly. And I would say the one worry I would have, if it ends up a close election, I think it is -- the Kerry campaign team's pretty good, but they got to fill in some gaps there to take on this Bush team. They are very, very good.

SHIELDS: One thing that surprised me this week, Bob, was that the -- in Florida, the whole electronic voting fiasco and debate raged, and Governor Bush said, Oh, it's OK. Don't you worry about it, even though there's no record, while the Republicans in Dade County are saying, Vote absentee, which suggests that maybe Florida's not flawless.

NOVAK: I think there are plans under way by the Democrats to try to steal this election...

(LAUGHTER)

NOVAK: ... in Florida. No, I think they are, and I have some -- some factual material which will come out in...

CARLSON: Oh, sure.

NOVAK: ... in due -- in due course because the plans are being laid, have been laid for four years. But I do believe this, that the -- Kate said it, that there is a -- there is a tremendous amount of spending that's being laid out in this program, and no way to spend it. You can -- you can tax Al Hunt and the rich people all you want, there's not enough blood in that turnip to finance it.

HUNT: You don't think Republicans would want to steal this election, do you, Bob?

CARLSON: Mark...

NOVAK: I haven't seen it yet.

HUNT: Yes, just -- just the Democrats who want to steal it. I just want to get that on the record.

10. Actually, to have Novak saying this, and the FLA Repub party send out

that flier telling their folks to vote absentee because of the crapass voting machines, is vaguely worrisome and disquieting to me. Like they are brazenly blowing smoke in OUR direction about the threat of DEM vote stealing (LOL) as a sort of "best defense is a good offense" thing to cover their own planned fraud.

If there are election irregularities and the Democrats protest them, Novak and people of his ilk will claim that WE are the one's who are not acting lawfully and constitutionally. The media will report the election as FAIR, just as the report the events of 9/11 as EXPLAINED and the connection between Iraq and al Quaida as EXISTANT. Any opposition will be branded as unpatriotic and not worthy of serious consideration.

I have to say that this is a tactic right out of the Joe Goebbels Propaganda Handbook: Accuse your opponents of exactly what you yourself are most guilty of. That way, even if your opponents actually discover cold hard evidence of the sleazy tactics you've been up to, the general public reaction will be something along the lines of "Both sides are just as dirty."

That said, the Bush regime and its far right allies are not the Nazis -- for example, these guys aren't going to go after the Jews, or even blacks or gays (with the exception of the their exploitation of the gay marriage amendment issue). Now liberals...well, that's a different story... No, the Bush regime/far right/GOP juggernaut is a homegrown, wholly American version of totalitarianism.

And they have studied the Joe Goebbels Propaganda Handbook till they can recite it by heart backwards and forwards. Heck, they've even written a few new chapters of their own!

When I was in first or second grade, we were standing single file before entering the classroom right after recreation. The girl in front of me had been eating a chocolate bar which melted in her hands. She looked at them and having no where else to wipe them off on, she made an about turn, faced me, and wiping her hands on my white shirt, she kept saying "I like your nice white shirt". I didn't realize what she was doing until I looked down at my white shirt.

She ate the chocolate. She had the dirty hands. I had the stains on my white shirt.

Robert Novak is doing exactly the same thing when, from the foggy patches of his mind, he accuses democrats of planning to steal the elections.
