If Obama Continues to be unopposed
He should go out on the stump for Kerry around the country.

He could be very effective in some key battleground states in the Mid-West and the South.

2. Agreed, Richard Morrison especially
every Democrat in the country that isn't busy with Kerry's campaign should be on a group retreat in Sugar Land...RIGHT NOW!

3. He could do both
let's utilize his new star status and political skills.

By the way, it won't hurt him either, if some House and Senate members owe him for their seats.

In the mean time, it helps out Kerry's ground game by bringing energy to the grass roots level. They can even use the party's money, so it won't detract from Kerry's spending limit. Kind of like a reverse coat tail affect.

I like the concept, especially with the Republican Congress' approval ratings so low.

4. I read he would be with Kerry off and on. But he is also running.
Neat guy and I think it is the face of who will be running this country soon. The WASP is dead as the only people in Govt. This will kill the Republicans but I think it is one reason we will see Bush drag up a few blacks on stage and keep Rice around. We also need new people to bring new thinkers in to our country.

5. he still needs to pay attention to illinois the most
since the right wing might start trying to make it as if he cares about furthering his ambitions in the future more than doing work for illinios as senator and they could find someone to run against him on that.

6. In an interview with I think Tavis Smiley, he said he was committed to IL
He doesn't want, obviously, to leave the impression that he believes he has the Senate win sewn up.

7. Please do not tell Obama what he needs to do. . .
. . .he is running for United States Senator from Illinois and his first obligation is to his ticket. We have some very close congressional races which he can provide coat tails for. I am sure he will help in other states as necessary, but if he is not careful that can backfire.

10. State repukes are meeting Tuesday to choose their new candidate.
I'm betting (figuratively) that it'll be Oberweis. He has the bucks to finance a large part of his campaign.

8. no, not too often
Illinois is a fickle state of affairs, corruption, graft, and bribery. If a favored son starts feeding on his own PR BEFORE he is even elected, we get very unhappy with him.

He needs to stay here, have a devastating effect on both the senatorial and presidential vote, and go to work. Flying around will cause him to lose support here.

so, sorry. But no. In two years, fine. Not now.
