Bush, Republicans, and the Newest Terror Threat
Does anyone believe that the newest terror threat in New York is just a way for Bush and the Republicans to say that the terrorist hate Bush. It seems to me that Bush and the Republicans could argue, whether true or not, that the fact that the terrorist are planning to attack in New York shows that they are afarid of and hate Bush; therefore, people should reelect Bush in order to continue to fight the war on terror and prevent the terrorist from attacking us again. I got this idea while watching the CBS news show Face the Nation. The host mentioned that a terror report concerning New York has been released recently. He then mentioned that the Republican Convention was coming up in New York.

2. It is a pure game play...
simply put they need some sort of fear factor (pun) to drive home their connection with New York/Terrorist/Republicans/911..on and on.

What a cheap ploy that will surely backfire on them.

4. I fully expect to see a RED terror warning before Nov.
It's hard to not become cynical with these kind of clowns running the White House.

5. They're trying...
to kill Kerry's post-convention bump. They figure if they can whittle that down, Bush will have half a chance. They must have read that article about people who fear death are more likely to vote for Bush. (Personally, I think that's due to the fact that people prefer the known to the unknown at the most crucial times.)

So instead of spending time on honing the RNC speeches, I imagine the 'pubs will be using 'FEAR' as their strategery for the next 4 months.

6. An Excuse to shift security resources.
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 10:18 AM by Nambe
Who would need an excuse to assign heavy security to corporate headquarters and buildings without being accused of draining security resources from bridges, trains, public gatherings, and protest sights? I don't think I need to sleep on that one.
