My argument with a Naderite
or so she claims. I have noticed something interesting with a lot of these "Naderites." She says she "really hates" *, but hates Kerry more(and for what reason? He's a "jackass", no further explanation). So she says shes gonna vote Nader. Yet, every time I say something about *, she will defend his every action. so, I'm pretty sure shes a repuke who is too embarrassed to just come out and say that shes voting *; on the other hand, socially, she's fairly liberal, so i suppose she could actually vote Nader (though if she thinks Kerry is a jackass, what about Nader???)
She also says that she saw the first ten minutes of F911, and walked out (!!), for unexplained reasons. She said a "friend who's a political science major" said it was full of lies (for those of you not in the know, a poli sci friend is the the college equivalent of a lawyer friend for adults in urban legends)

But one thing overall gets me. When i started talking about how the corporations are outsourcing, and are liquidizing America, she rolls her eyes and says she always saw me as rational, and this "psycho left wing stuff" was just stupid. "There are other things than outsourcing that are taking jobs" she said. So is outsourcing helping?? She keeps on harping on all the conspiracy theory stuff. It's a sad day when common sense is viewed as conspiracy theory. I eventually had to just walk out. I'm really pissed, because shes been one of my best friends for years, and i had been close to asking her out. now i seriously doubt i could stand dating her

1. She is just weird. Most Naderites make a lot more sense than that
She's for Nader, yet hates Kerry and defends Bush? That's a new one on me.

3. She defends Bush and Nader is running on Rebug money.
At least she's consistent.

6. oh, i know
that most Naderites are more rational than that. I just have no clue why she bothers to claim to support Nader, rather than just support *

4. I don't think she really supports Nader.
It's possible she's just one of those people who likes to pick fights. Generally, such people are not the makings of loyal friends or potential sweethearts.

But getting back to the Nader thing, it sounds as though she's just in "none of the above" mode and doesn't really have any ideological relationship to Nader. If she was really a Naderite, she would be willing to talk about corporate problems and the like, and not start labeling you.

5. yeah, she has always been the sort to start fights
but our friendship has thrived on insults, all joking; this is the first time shes actually been hostile, though, rather than joking. and i, too, got the idea that it was non of the above. it did seem ridiculus to ignore corporate issues and claim to support nader. pretty much everything she talked about was RW talking points.
