3. Sadly, Sen. Byrd should be better than this
He's unable to come up with specific examples of ignoring the Constitution -- and the specifics are LEGION! Sen. Byrd is a great man, but he's getting old and can't quite keep it coherent anymore. And it breaks my heart.

10. Sad indeed, dbaker41
This great man, who is so knowledgeable about history, was speaking on CSPAN2 yesterday about his book and couldn't remember the words to Nathan Hale's quote: I regret that I have but one life to give to my country. There's a major difference between now and prior to the beginning of the Iraq invasion when he gave such passionate and powerful speeches on the floor of the Senate.

4. Wolfie: How did Bush violate .....
the constitution?

hmmmmm...there are so many ways to go here....why not start off with the 2000 election. Oh and what about transfering 4 billion dollars from Aghanistan to Iraq without congressional approval?

You stupid fuck mr. wolfie! You are a brainwashed and very sad man....

7. Thank you. That was worth watching.
I can see where even he had problems constructing an argument for what has happened. It's proof that we are on the defensive, and it's very very difficult. It's no different than being in a race and having the opponant sabatoge you, and then having to answer as to why you are not a good competitor. It's absolutely maddening. But at least we are finally getting in a punch or two.

Sadly, he is not at the top of his game.

9. I liked it when he mentioned Karl Rove
and how the Republicans can ride the terrorism horse all the way to the election.

11. Blitzer "bullies" Byrd on purpose...
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 01:30 PM by Flubadubya
Blitzer has had Byrd on before in the recent past. He realizes that the poor man is quite dottering now and cannot defend his arguments cogently. I think he put him on for this reason alone.

Blitzer USED Senator Byrd to make a mockery of him. He knew that Byrd would be a pushover and deliberately humiliated the man. Wolf has absolutely no ethics nor shame! Vile, disgusting man you are, Wolf Blitzer!!!

14. He was disappointing.
He wasn't even able to make his basic point that the Administration has resisted allowing Congress to play it's proper oversight role.
