Put the 87 billion question to rest--once and for all
that's all the pundits keep talking about. When will Kerry once and for all put this to rest.

1. Let's look at the big picture...
Forget about who voted for what and lets forget about politicians for a minute.

Three years ago, this country wasn't know as nation that tortures, murders, rapes, and kills innocent children. Our politicians can wage war only with the blessings of the American public. From what I can see this support has rapidly deteriorated and the politicians must succumb to our wishes. The reputation of this country is forever tarnished....

2. I bet he wants to slam Bush with it at the debates
Live on national TV...

And the talking point is so easily disputed. Two versions of the bill, one financially responsible, one not. John Kerry voted for the financially responsible bill and against the irresponsible one. Bush threatened to veto the financially responsible bill and signed the irresponsible one.

Kerry said a lot of things at the convention that I wasn't expecting. If all of Bush's negative attacks on Kerry are as easy to debunk as this one, we don't have much to worry about, and it will be the Repuke pundits with egg on their face.

3. he should answer, and loudly
They're trying to say 2 things, that he's unpatriotic and a flip-flopper. He should ask the American people... if all 100 of us senators are patriotic America-loving people, why did I have to vote twice? Why didn't it pass the first fucking time?

It got shot down the first time like 48-52 by who? Any guesses on which party wanted to send our troops into battle naked? That's right, dipshits. The republicans. I've also heard that if it did pass, ol Shrubby was ready to veto it. Way to support those troops!

It did pass the 2nd time overwhelmingly, and surprise, those republicans flip-flopped their vote. How dare they.

That's the problem with all the spin and lack of context. Does anyone REALLY believe that John Kerry wanted to go to war but didn't want to pay any money for it? Or if the bill hadn't passed the 2nd time, there wouldn't have been a 3rd vote? Like we would've told the soldiers to buy their own guns, pack their own lunches, and buy an airline ticket to get over to Iraq?

I realize this is a wedge issue, but it presupposes that we are spectacularly stupid.

4. what gets me is no responsible, educated
person with a veteran conscious would deliberatly vote to make our troops suffer. I cannot EVER see Kerry voting against something that would be in the best interest of our troops, but that is exactly how Bush is spinning it.

I hope that the more people get to know Kerry and his record they will begin to feel confident that Kerry would always work for the good of the people and troops and the pundits whoring for Bush will know it's a mute subject.
