3 Years Later and We Are No Safer
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 01:45 PM by indigobusiness
What does all this alert-mongering say about the competence of *BushCo* to steer us into safer waters?

Fearmongering and manipulation run riot, billions of tax dollars are wasted, and we are merely treading water - at best.

This is Drug War redux...throw money at ridiculous, hopelessly flawed strategy.

1. We had a terrorist attack today...
and it originated from the White House:

No bounce for Kerry? BULLSHIT! BULL-SHIT!!!
A major terrorist threat on NE financial institutions?: BULLSHIT!
-Ridge just did a free campaign commercial for Bush.
-There is no doubt that the WH has been using terror alerts for their own personal, political gain.
-This latest terrorist threat will accomplish a couple of things:
1. Try and knock Kerry's boost in the polls and take the current media focus off of Kerry and back onto FEAR.
2. Try and cover up that we are facing a major economical disaster in the months to come. Now the WH can blame the impending dip in all sectors of the economy on the terror alert.

This country is in the deepest shit. The DNC convention coverage has shown us that the news media aren't even being subtle about shilling for Bush anymore. The corporate facists are backing Hit...Bush once again.

Let's not mistake who the REAL terrorists are.

6. Can't argue that.

Just didn't want to veer into any possible hyperbole.

I agree with you. The path we have taken has made any possible resolution far more difficult, compounded the resolve of those that oppose us, and taken us far afield of any real safety.

on edit- We will never bully the world into respecting us. Until we are seen as actively working to ratchet down the violence, we will face whatever creative forms of violence our opposers can muster.

Peace will never be achieved by war. Strength is not realized through armaments, but through genuine wisdom. We are perceived as monumentally unwise, and rightfully so.
