Rove is not giving up on swing voters
Some say he has: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/7/31/153248/980

But look for a 180 deg turn at the convention. Rove is targeting four groups:
1) The selfish
2) The brainwashed
3) The stupid
4) Those who don't pay attention to the news

Rove is directing all his energy on safe counties in swing states, knowing that TV is more important than rallies. The rhetoric is for group 2 (gay marriage) and 3 (terror). He could say anything he wants and those in group 4 would never hear it.

But look out. The RNC will be all McCain and Guiliani. The debates will target group 4 - Kerry is an extremist flip flopper, I'm a uniter, not a divider.

It's a long time until November.

1. I read somewhere before that Rove was going to run on
the 3 G's, God, Gays, and Guns. He was bragging about it a few months ago.
