If they don't catch any terrorists, does the threat simply disappear ??

Do they just vanish into thin air? How do they know the terrorists will not wait for another opportune time, unless they keep the alert elevated until someone is caught and there is some resolution to this threat? How will they know when to call off the alert if no one is captured? Just curious...

attacks, it will mean that Ridge scared them away with his alert. I heard a reporter ask him a question like that at his press conference. And did you hear Ridge say something about the "pResident"s great leadership". I thought he was making a campaign speech.

Hell, how much money do we need to spend to tell us there has been chatter and look out for an attack? That's not enough. If we have credible threats, we need to catch those making the threats....
