Wait one cotton-picking minute!!!! Intelligence from Iraq?
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 02:53 PM by plastic_turkeys
"This kind of information is the result of the President’s leadership in the war against terror. The reports that have led to this alert are the result of offensive intelligence and military operations overseas, as well as strong partnerships with our allies around the world, such as Pakistan. Such operations and partnerships give us insight into the enemy so we can better target our defensive measures here and away from home..."

Aha. So are they not-so-vaguely implying that this intelligence came from within Iraq, thereby justifying the invasion? Justifying the kazillion dollar price tage and 1000 soldier deaths? Did this "information" come from Abu Ghraib detainees who would say anything to get off of a milk crate? Just wondering, Mr. Ridge....

1. nope it came from where our troops SHOULD BE
in afghanistan stopping alQaeda from having the resources to spare to plan and finance these bombers

if we had done what we needed to do in Afghanistan/Pakistan instead of pulling all our special ops off to Iraq we could make the argument we are safer. As it is, the Taliban is in control of enough territory to protect the alQaeda while they continue to plan attacks on us

criminal bushco bastards :argh:

2. If we demanded full disclosure and an investigation of why

this announcement was made, they would claim "national security" secrecy.Once again they believe they have the citizens over a barrel.

Why did they do this today? Bush way down in the polls, gasoline ready to take another big jump, big increase in violence in Iraq.
They have really blown their wad on this one. If they don't actually arrest guys in possession of truck bombs I think that this is just about it for them.

4. bullshit.............
this is what set me off

Understandably, security measures at each facility will not be uniform in nature, given the scope and scale of building architecture, access to and from roads and other variables.

******** Certainly, we will not broadcast our intentions to the enemy. ***********
