What do you think the markets will do tommorrow?
The World Bank has already made a statement saying it has received no specific threat and it will be open for business tommorrow. ( The World Bank never sleeps) Will the markets go up or down? Will traders sell the banking sector? Will they dump Citibank? Prudential? Will the floor Traders stay home in fear of terra? Will Wall Street become a mini-facist police state? If the DOW goes up tommorrow then Ridge is full of shit and this is just an excuse to shut down protests and to knock Kerry off the news. If it goes down then that means somebody believes it. What's your prediction?

5. Bloomberg isn't going to say anything real
He'll just say, "Go to work and keep shopping".

3. Will Wall Street become a mini-facist police state?
I'm sorry, become?

Have you been down there lately? the logistics down there mean the terrorists would have to be driving a tank to get anywhere near the building. Traffic isn't allowed anywhere near the building. Even pedestrians get stopped by security.

11. No I have never been to New York
but I'm not surprised. which means Bushco is just jerking us around again. I wonder if the traders are going to get pissed about this. they could get even by dumping banking stocks just to teach Bush a lesson.

15. I wish they'd dump Halliburton and Carlyle stocks
and purposely devalue it. They love money but don't like getting used to re-elect shrub.

14. They said they're not worried about it
and will conduct business as usual. What they really meant was that Bush can go Cheney himself.

18. CNN says world Bank says...........
But since it's CNN I probably should have waited till somebody else reported it. It did find something interesting though

IMF spokesman Bill Murray said that the fund had been advised by U.S. authorities of the possible threat and were taking all necessary precautions. The fund stages its annual autumn meeting in early October.

Early October. I wonder where it's going to be. They get protested every year and have to keep going to more and more remote places. I doubt if it's in DC.

10. Citi is owned by Saudis
so they may dip on purpose to help Bush. (the "liberal" media will blame Kerry and they will all use the same words)

8. The goal is for them to go down
then they can say it was because of Kerry. Kerry somehow made the markets go down. Black magic? Fox has said this during every dip this year.

Because Democrats are supposed to be bad for the economy. And when you mention Clinton and his kick ass economy, they respond with Penis.

12. If this threat were real, bush would encourage people to stay home
however this isn't a real threat, so everybody needs to go to work and make money for the boss.

16. I smell Rove blowing smoke up our collective asses.
There is probably no reason to believe the World Bank is any more vulnerable today than it was any time in the last four years. You can expect more of this type of horseshit in the next 3 months and then it will magically go away.

Time to dump stocks?

Technical market indicators are bad and getting worse. Is this a buying opportunity, or time to go?
July 23, 2004: 12:45 PM EDT
By Mark Gongloff, CNN/Money senior writer

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - After running in place for several months, the stock market has recently shown troubling signs of fatigue, leading some analysts to believe that, instead of prepping for a summer rally, investors should stay away from stocks.

A few technical indicators are starting to become worrisome. After flirting with its 200-day moving average for several months, the S&P 500 has finally broken through, closing below it in four out of the past five trading days, despite a mild rally late Thursday.

What about Groupthink? Isn't Tom Ridge's brain infected with this dreaded diease? The intell agencies too. Have they had time to cure groupthink yet? I don't think so.
