Bloomberg speaking right now.
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 03:30 PM by NightOwwl
"The terrorists are attempting to describe, uh, destroy our way of life."

That was a strange slip of the tongue. I'm sure a Freudian could make something out it.

But you can't take out a corporation with a bomb.

The Stock Exchange? They're fenced off as it is. Have been since 9/11.

Citigroup and Prudential? Why them? They are spread out. You can't destroy them with a bomb. You can kill people. But you can't kill the corporation.

4. Did he really say that?
It's unconstitutional. Nobody searches my car, my home or my person without reasonable cause.

5. Yes he did say that. And they will have to limit protests.
"We have a finite amount of police resources and will have to deny protest permits to some extent." There it is.

So go on with your normal daily life in the city- go about your business. But there is nothing political in this.

8. I remember he falsely said Canada is to blame immediately re power failure
Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 03:53 PM by glarius
which the north east part of the continent suffered a short while back. I remember how he said "we all know that Canada is to blame for this problem" (words to that effect), the first time he appeared on TV to talk to the Amerian people. This of course was false..It was subsequently rvealed that the problem was on the American side of the border...He was just playing politics then, and who knows what to believe from his lips now...He does not inspire confidence in me.
