What % of the population would happily go along
with declaration of martial law? I'll bet it would be as high as 45% right now. There are a lot of people who would just as well have uniformed military "keeping the peace".

3. Add in those that aren't happy
but will be easily led by the tried-and-true brainwashing techniques they have perfected and you might be sitting at 60+%

5. I really believe it would be much more
None of the bullshit that has happened over the past 3 1/2 years would have been believable before it happened. And what has happened? People sit with their thumbs up their asses waiting to be told what to do next.

I look back on that duct tape and plastic sheeting thing as a defining moment; defining the level of ignorance and "swayability" of the populace. The stores were sold out!

People will believe anything. It's been a battle to get ANY truthful information out there for people to consider. I know all good dems will continue trying, and it does make a dent, but there is a huge mass of Americans who would walk off a cliff if told enough times that it would be good for their backs.

8. I think that the majority would think that jeeps and Bradley
fighting vehicles on Main St. USA would be "neat". I believe that if they worked it for a just a few weeks, like they did the selling of Iraq war, they could suspend the constitution with thunderous applause. No fucking doubt in my mind at this point.

7. More than you think.
Look at all the people who honestly thought Bush was transformed into a war hero by 9/11. His approval ratings are still in the 40's, which, while incredibly low for a sitting president, mean that nearly half of the people in this country don't look at the facts and figure out what a vicious, incompetent s.o.b. he really is.

If another terrorist attack happened, especially if several thousand people were killed, you can bet almost anything that all of Congress would go along with martial law (remember how bravely they stood up to the fraudulent vote? The IWR?) and John Kerry himself, I've no doubt whatsoever, would come out in favor of doing whatever it takes to keep the country calm.

Don't kid yourselves. And if you think the cops and the national guard would somehow be on our side, you only have to look at what happened in Seattle, in Miami, and everywhere that Bush goes to speak.

I put nothing past these people.
