Coleman and Joe Lieberman were interviewed by Blitzer the other day who asked what should we do about the 9/11 Commission recommendations.
Coleman said that "He" would be willing to look at the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and "I'd" be willing to listen to what they have to say. His tone was forboding to me, living in Minnesota and familiar with his treacherous character.
He sounded like someone who has more clout than what we think he has.
Some have suggested Coleman may replace Cheney on the ticket - he has his own fetid baggage but not as much as Cheney.
In tandem to this, today the Dem Mayor of St Paul, MN threw his support to Bush/Cheney saying we must stay the course. He is up for re-election next year and this support of bush guarantees he'll lose that bid.
Lots happening up here in the North country.
(Coleman is a former St Paul mayor who switched parties, ran against Paul Wellstone as Rove's hand-picked candidate and won the 2002 election after the horrific plane crash right before the election)
Will Coleman move into the VP spot(or another admin appointment) leaving open his Senate seat for the Repub MN governor to fill with Mayor Randy Kelly (who by then will have changed parties)?
The RNC has tons of merchandise featuring just "W" and not "Bush/Cheney." Getting Cheney off the ticket would nearly eliminate Halliburton as an issue(we'll investigate that after the election) and put a pretty face (though empty suit) up against John Edwards.
This post deserves at least a dozen (or more) tin foil smiley's and a handful of scared little guys.
:tinfoilhat: :scared:
On the issue of Mayor Kelly - today he said he will remain a Democrat and support Bush's re-election. What is the strategy here - does Rove think the MN Dems will raise such an outcry that they'll oust Kelly from the party? Or will Kelly eventually 'do the right thing' and switch parties since the Dems in the state are so pissed at him?
